Design and application of a multi-chamber cartridge including a hydrogel formulation
Abstract
An e-vaping device having a cartridge including an outer container extending in a longitudinal direction, a conduit within the outer container, a storage portion including pre-vapor formulation ingredients, the storage portion being between the outer container and the conduit and including a plurality of chambers, a plurality of wicks, each of the wicks being in communication with each of the chambers and the conduit and being configured to deliver one or more ingredients in each of the chambers to the conduit, and a coil heater located in the chimney and operatively coupled to each of the wicks. The e-vaping device also includes a power supply source coupled to the cartridge, the power supply source is configured to heat the wicks to vaporize ingredients located in respective chambers and generate a vapor corresponding to each of the vaporized ingredients.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A vapor precursor for a vaping device, the vapor precursor comprising:
a gel; nicotine; at least one acid; and a vapor former; wherein at least one of the nicotine, the at least one acid or the vapor former are mixed with the gel.
2 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein the nicotine, the at least one acid or the vapor former are mixed with the gel.
3 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein the gel comprises at least one of a biopolymer or a bio-derived polymer.
4 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein the gel is a hydrogel.
5 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein a rate of evaporation of the vapor precursor is lower than when the gel is not part of the vapor precursor.
6 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein a degree of mixing of the nicotine, at least one acid and vapor former is lower than when the gel is not part of the vapor precursor.
7 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein a stability of the nicotine, of the at least one acid and of the vapor former is greater than when the gel is not part of the vapor precursor.
8 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein a concentration of the at least one acid in the vapor precursor is less than 2%.
9 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , wherein a concentration of the nicotine is less than 5%.
10 . The vapor precursor of claim 1 , further comprising at least one of a flavorant or an aroma, at least one of the flavorant or the aroma being mixed with the gel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
