Galley monument with passenger foot wells

Abstract

A monument configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft that includes first, second, third and fourth sides and first and second lavatories spaced apart from one another by at least a portion of a galley storage section that is open to the first side. The first and second sides are opposite to one another and the third and fourth sides are opposite to one another. The first lavatory defines a first lavatory interior and includes a first toilet therein and the second lavatory defines a second lavatory interior and includes a second toilet therein.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A monument configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft, the monument comprising:
 first, second, third and fourth sides, wherein the first and second sides are opposite to one another and the third and fourth sides are opposite to one another,   a galley storage section that is open to the first side, and   a passenger storage section that is open to the second side.   
     
     
         2 . The monument of  claim 1  wherein the passenger storage section includes separate first and second passenger areas. 
     
     
         3 . The monument of  claim 2  wherein the first passenger area includes a first foot well and wherein the second passenger area includes a second foot well. 
     
     
         4 . The monument of  claim 3  further comprising first and second protrusions extending outwardly from the second wall, wherein the first and second foot wells are defined in the first and second protrusions, respectively. 
     
     
         5 . The monument of  claim 4  wherein the first and second protrusions include a shelf on a top thereof 
     
     
         6 . The monument of  claim 3  wherein the galley storage section includes a trolley cart storage area, such that a trolley cart stored in the trolley cart storage area is positioned adjacent the first and second foot wells. 
     
     
         7 . The monument of  claim 1  wherein the galley storage section includes an opening open to the first side that is configured to receive a trolley therein, and wherein the passenger storage section includes an opening open to the second side that is configured to receive a passenger's feet therein. 
     
     
         8 . A monument configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft, the monument comprising:
 first, second, third and fourth sides, wherein the first and second sides are opposite to one another and the third and fourth sides are opposite to one another,   first and second protrusions extending outwardly from the second wall, wherein the first and second protrusions include a shelf on a top thereof,   a galley storage section that is open to the first side, wherein the galley storage section includes a trolley cart storage area, and   a passenger storage section that is open to the second side, wherein the passenger storage section includes separate first and second passenger areas, wherein the first passenger area includes a first foot well, and wherein the second passenger area includes a second foot well, wherein the first and second foot wells are defined in the first and second protrusions, respectively, and wherein a trolley cart stored in the trolley cart storage area is positioned adjacent the first and second foot wells.
