Abstract
An augmented reality design system is disclosed. The augmented reality design system allows a user to create a design for an article in real time using a proxy. The system can be configured using a head mounted display for displaying at least one virtual design element over a proxy located in a real-world environment. The system can also be configured using a projector that projects at least one virtual design element onto a proxy located in the real world.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A display system comprising:
a display including a display screen configured to operate in at least a transparent display mode; an interaction sensing component to sense an object other than a user spaced from and viewable through the display screen and to receive sensed data regarding physical user interactions performed behind the display screen with the object; and an interaction display control component, wherein responsive to the sensed object and responsive to the sensed data meeting predefined interaction criteria, content associated with the object and displayed on the display screen is modified.
3 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the modification of the content associated with the object and displayed on the display screen occurs when the display screen is powered on.
4 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is movement of the display screen from one position to another.
5 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is movement of the object behind the display screen.
6 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is sensing a presence of the object behind the display screen.
7 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is a touch on a surface of the display screen.
8 . The display system recited in claim 2 wherein the modification of the content associated with the object and displayed on the display screen is an appearance of a user interface.
9 . The display system recited in claim 8 wherein the user interface is a virtual representation of the object as previously positioned behind and removed from being behind the display screen.
10 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having computer readable program instructions stored thereon for causing a computer system to perform instructions, the instructions comprising the steps of:
for a display system including a display screen configured to operate in at least a transparent mode of operation, determining whether sensed physical interactions meet predefined interaction criteria; and responsive to sensing an object other than a user spaced from and viewable through the display screen and responsive to the determination that a sensed physical interaction performed behind the display screen with the object spaced from and viewable through the display screen meets the predefined interaction criteria, modifying content denoting the object and displayed on the display screen.
11 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 further comprising the step of receiving information regarding sensing physical user interactions.
12 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein modifying the content denoting the object and displayed on the display screen occurs when the display screen is powered on.
13 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is movement of the display screen from one position to another.
14 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is movement of the object behind the display screen.
15 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is sensing a presence of the object behind the display screen.
16 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein the predefined interaction criteria is a touch on a surface of the display screen.
17 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 10 wherein modifying the content denoting the object and displayed on the display screen is an appearance of a user interface.
18 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 17 wherein the user interface is a virtual representation of the object as previously positioned behind and removed from behind the display screen.
19 . The computer readable medium recited in claim 17 wherein the user interface is a menu spatially aligned with the object as positioned behind the display screen.
20 . A method of modifying display content comprising the steps of:
for a display system including a display screen configured to operate in at least a transparent mode of operation, determining whether sensed physical interactions meet predefined interaction criteria; and responsive to sensing a non-user object behind the display screen and responsive to the determination that a sensed physical interaction performed behind the display screen with the object spaced from the display screen meets the predefined interaction criteria, modifying content directed to the object and displayed on the display screen.
21 . The method recited in claim 20 wherein modifying the content comprises at least one of:
displaying a virtual representation of the object as previously positioned behind and removed from being behind the display screen, and
displaying a menu spatially aligned with the object as positioned behind the display screen.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
