Abstract
The invention provides human secreted proteins (SECP) and polynucleotides which identify and encode SECP. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, antibodies, agonists, arid antagonists. The invention also provides methods for diagnosing, treating, or preventing disorders associated with aberrant expression of SECP.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 181 . (canceled)
182 . A method for screening for a compound that modulates the activity of a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of:
(a) SEQ ID NO: 1-63; and (b) amino acids having at least 90% sequence identity to an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1-63, the method comprising: (i) combining the polypeptide with at least one test compound under conditions permissive for the activity of the polypeptide, (ii) assessing the activity of the polypeptide in the presence of the at least one test compound, and (iii) comparing the activity of the polypeptide in the presence of the at least one test compound with the activity of the polypeptide in the absence of the at least one test compound, wherein a change in the activity of the polypeptide in the presence of the at least one test compound is indicative of a compound that modulates the activity of the polypeptide.
183 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the polypeptide comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6.
184 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the polypeptide comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:69.
185 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is combined with the polypeptide in an in vitro or cell-free system.
186 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is a ligand of SECP.
187 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is an aptamer,
188 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is an antibody.
189 . The method of claim 188 , wherein the antibody is a humanized antibody,
190 . The method of claim 188 , wherein the antibody is a single chain antibody, Fab fragment, or a F(ab′) 2 fragment.
191 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is an agonist of the activity of the polypeptide.
192 . The method of claim 182 , wherein the test compound is an antagonist of the activity of the polypeptide,
193 . The method of claim 182 , further comprising:
(a) combining the polypeptide with the at least one test compound under suitable conditions, and (b) detecting binding of the polypeptide to the at least one test compound, thereby identifying that the at least one test compound specifically binds to the polypeptide.Cited by (0)
