Unit oral solid dose compositions composed of ibuprofen and nizatidine

Abstract

Described herein are unit oral solid dose compositions composed of ibuprofen and nizatidine. The compositions described herein are useful in improving the quality of pain in a subject or a bodily function of a subject afflicted with pain or definite improvement of a subject afflicted with pain.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A unit oral solid dose composition for enhancing an analgesic response in a human desiring treatment for reducing acute pain comprising (i) ibuprofen at a dosage from 100 mg to 200 mg per unit oral dose composition and (ii) nizatidine at a dosage from 50 mg to 200 mg per unit oral dose composition,
 wherein said unit oral dose composition comprises an admixture of (i) and (ii), wherein said unit oral dose composition does not have an enteric coating so that (i) and (ii) are released concomitantly after administration to said human, and   wherein said ibuprofen and said nizatidine provides an enhanced analgesic response in said human compared to the administration to said human of the same dosage strength of said ibuprofen in the absence of said nizatidine.   
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of ibuprofen is 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of nizatidine is 50 mg to 100 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of nizatidine is 100 mg to 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         5 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of nizatidine is 50 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of nizatidine is 150 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of ibuprofen is 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition and the amount of nizatidine is 50 mg to 100 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         8 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of ibuprofen is 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition and the amount of nizatidine is 100 mg to 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         9 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of ibuprofen is 100 mg per unit oral solid dose composition and the amount of nizatidine is 50 mg of per unit oral solid dose composition. 
     
     
         10 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the amount of ibuprofen is 200 mg per unit oral solid dose composition and the amount of nizatidine is 150 mg per unit oral solid dose composition.
