User Interface for Comparing Items Using Gestures
Abstract
In an example embodiment, a method of presenting marketplace listings is provided. Search parameters are received from a user interface on an electronic device. A search on marketplace listings is then performed using the search parameters, returning marketplace results. The marketplace results are then organized into a plurality of web pages, each web page corresponding to a different marketplace result, with each page organized so that a row on any one of the web pages corresponds to the same type of product attribute as that row on any of the other of the plurality of web pages. Then one of the plurality of web pages is displayed on the electronic device. When a swipe left or swipe right gesture is received, another of the plurality of web pages is displayed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system comprising:
a marketplace database including a plurality of marketplace listings, the marketplace listings each listing a product or service available for sale; and a web server configured to:
receive search parameters via a user interface presented by an electronic device;
perform a search on the plurality of marketplace listings using the received search parameters to identify the marketplace listings that correspond to the received search parameters;
cause display of a map via the user interface, the map including at least one indication of a physical location for purchasing the product or service of an identified marketplace listing;
receive a travel parameter via an instrumentality of the user interface, the travel parameter indicative of an amount of time a user is willing to travel to purchase the product or service of the identified marketplace listing;
determine an area of the map that corresponds to the amount of time the user is willing to travel based on the travel parameter and travel information obtained from at least one travel database; and
cause combined display of the determined area over the map via the user interface, the combined display indicating whether a travel time to the physical location is within the amount of time the user is willing to travel based on a displayed position of the at least one indication of the physical location relative to the determined area.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the determined area has an erratic shape based on the travel parameter and the information obtained from the at least one travel database.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the determined area has a non-circular shape based on the travel parameter and the information obtained from the at least one travel database.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the instrumentality of the user interface is a slider configured such that user input to slide the slider in a first direction increases a value of the travel parameter and user input to slide the slider in a second direction decreases the value of the travel parameter, the second direction being opposite the first direction.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the web server is further configured to receive a travel parameter selection via the user interface to select a different travel parameter to associate with the instrumentality of the user interface.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the different travel parameter is indicative of a travel cost the user is willing to accept to travel to purchase the product or service of the identified marketplace listing.
7 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the different travel parameter is indicative of a fuel cost the user is willing to accept to travel to purchase the product or service of the identified marketplace listing.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the web service is further configured to filter the identified marketplace listings to include on the map indications of physical locations for purchasing the product that are within the determined area.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the web service is further configured to filter the identified marketplace listings so that indications of physical locations for purchasing the product that are outside the determined area are not included on the map.
10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the web service is further configured to determine a current location of the user and the determined area is further determined based on the current location.
11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the web service is further configured to determine a current location of the user and the map is based on the current location and the physical location for purchasing the product or service of the identified marketplace listing.
12 . A method comprising:
receiving search parameters from an electronic device; identifying listings in a listing database that correspond to the received search parameters by using the received search parameters to search the listings in the listing database; generating a map for display via a user interface of the electronic device, the map including at least one indication of a physical location for obtaining an item corresponding to an identified listing; receiving a travel parameter from the electronic device, the travel parameter indicative of an amount of time a user associated with the electronic device is willing to travel to obtain the item corresponding to the identified listing; determining an area of the map that corresponds to the amount of time the user is willing to travel based on the travel parameter and travel information obtained from at least one travel database; and generating a combined display of the determined area over the map for display via the user interface, the combined display indicating whether a travel time to the physical location is within the amount of time the user is willing to travel based on a display position of the at least one indication of the physical location relative to the determined area.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the item is a product or service available for sale.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the listing database comprises a marketplace database and the listings in the marketplace database are marketplace listings, the marketplace listings each listing a respective item available for sale, and the respective item corresponding to at least one of a product or service.
15 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising communicating the map and the combined display to the electronic device for display via the user interface.
16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the determined area has a non-circular shape based on the travel parameter and the information obtained from the at least one travel database.
17 . The method of claim 12 , wherein a value of the travel parameter is based on user input received via an instrumentality of the user interface.
18 . A system comprising:
a display device configured to display a user interface; at least one processor; and memory having instructions stored thereon that are executable by the at least one processor to perform operations including:
receiving search parameters via the user interface;
receiving a map for display via the user interface, the map including at least one indication of a physical location for obtaining an item, the item being listed in a listing that is identified from a plurality of listings as corresponding to the received search parameters;
receiving a travel parameter via an instrumentality of the user interface, the travel parameter indicative of a travel cost a user is willing to accept to travel to obtain the item of the identified listing; and
receiving a combined display for display via the user interface, the combined display including the map and a visible indication overlaying an area of the map that is determined to correspond to the travel cost the user is willing to accept to obtain the item of the identified listing, the area of the map determined based, in part, on the travel parameter.
19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the operations further include receiving a travel parameter selection via the user interface to select a different travel parameter to associate with the visible indication.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the different travel parameter is indicative of an amount of time the user is willing to travel to purchase the item of the identified listing.Cited by (0)
