Cyclosporin a form 2 and method of making same

Abstract

Disclosed herein are methods of making cyclosporin A Form 2.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for making cyclosporin A form 2, the method comprising the steps of:
 a) preparing a suspension of cyclosporin A in a solvent;   b) heating the suspension;   c) adding cyclosporin A form 2 to the suspension;   d) stirring the suspension; and   e) isolating cyclosporin A form 2 from the suspension.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of heating the suspension comprises heating the suspension at a temperature of between about 40° C. and 70° C. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the step of heating the suspension comprises heating the suspension at a temperature of between about 60° C. and 65° C. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of stirring the suspension comprises stirring the suspension at a temperature of between about 20° C. and 70° C. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the step of stirring the suspension comprises stirring the suspension at a temperature of between about 60° C. and 65° C. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the step of stirring the suspension comprises stirring the suspension for between about 24 and about 72 hours. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the step of stirring the suspension comprises stirring the suspension for between about 22 and about 23 hours.
