Abstract

A magazine charging apparatus includes a carrier that holds cartridges and facilitates their transfer to a magazine; the carrier having a body that encloses an interior compartment, the body having a first side and a second side to receive the cartridges therebetween; a displacement leg rigidly attached to a bottom back end of the carrier; a cradle integral to the first side and the second sides at the bottom end of the carrier and extending inward to hold a cartridge; and a seating plate rigidly attached to the bottom of the front end of the carrier; the displacement leg and cradle aid in facilitating transfer of one or more cartridges into the magazine.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed:

         1 . A magazine charging apparatus comprising:
 a carrier that holds cartridges and facilitates their transfer to a magazine; the carrier having:
 a body that encloses an interior compartment, the body having a first side and
 a second side configured to receive the cartridges therebetween;
 a displacement leg rigidly attached to a bottom back end of the carrier and configured to depress a follower of a magazine; and
 a cradle integral to the first side and the second sides at the bottom end of the carrier and extending inward to hold a cartridge;
   wherein the displacement leg and cradle aid in facilitating transfer of one or more cartridges into the magazine.

         2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the carrier further comprises:
 two cutouts extending partially a length of the first side and the second side and each of the two cutouts having a plurality of notches.

         3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , further comprising:
 a slider plate having a body configured to fit within the interior compartment and two protrusions extending away from the body and configured to protrude through the two cutouts of the first side and second side.

         4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the body of the slider plate is concave.

         5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
 a lid pivotally attached to the body.

         6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the carrier further comprises:
 a seating plate rigidly attached to the bottom of the front end of the carrier configured to push the cartridges in the magazine.

         7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first rail and a second rail integral with the first side and the second side and extending into the interior compartment and configured to engage with grooves of the one or more cartridges.

         8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising:
 a third rail and a fourth rail integral with the first side and the second side at a forward position in the interior cavity.

         9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the displacement leg comprises a cutout configured to match the contour of the cartridges.

         10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the cradle includes curved surfaces configured to contour around an exterior of the one or more cartridges.

         11 . A magazine charging apparatus comprising:
 a carrier that holds cartridges and facilitates their transfer to a magazine; the carrier having:
 a body that encloses an interior compartment, the body having a first side and a second side configured to receive the cartridges therebetween;
 a displacement leg rigidly attached to a bottom back end of the carrier and configured to depress a follower of a magazine;
 a cradle integral to the first side and the second sides at the bottom end of the carrier and extending inward to hold a cartridge; and
 a seating plate rigidly attached to the bottom of the front end of the carrier configured to push the cartridges in the magazine;
   wherein the displacement leg and cradle aid in facilitating transfer of one or more cartridges into the magazine.

         12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the carrier further comprises:
 two cutouts extending partially a length of the first side and the second side and each of the two cutouts having a plurality of notches.

         13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , further comprising:
 a slider plate having a body configured to fit within the interior compartment and two protrusions extending away from the body and configured to protrude through the two cutouts of the first side and second side.

         14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the body of the slider plate is concave.

         15 . The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising:
 a lid pivotally attached to the body.

         16 . The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising:
 a first rail and a second rail integral with the first side and the second side and extending into the interior compartment and configured to engage with grooves of the one or more cartridges.

         17 . The apparatus of claim 16 , further comprising:
 a third rail and a fourth rail integral with the first side and the second side at a forward position in the interior cavity.

         18 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the displacement leg comprises a cutout configured to match the contour of the cartridges.

         19 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the cradle includes curved surfaces configured to contour around an exterior of the one or more cartridges.

         20 . A method of charging a magazine given the apparatus of claim 1 comprising:
 positioning the apparatus above the magazine;
 pressing down on the apparatus toward the magazine to allow for the displacement leg to engage with a follower of the magazine or a cartridge previously inserted into the magazine;
 moving the apparatus laterally along the follower or previously inserted cartridge to allow a cartridge to engage with a top of the magazine;
 moving the apparatus away from the magazine to release the cartridge from the apparatus; and
 separating the apparatus from the magazine to allow a second cartridge to advance to the cradle.

         21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:
 ensuring the cartridge is seated into the magazine using a seating plate of the apparatus.

         22 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:
 advancing a slider plate within the interior compartment of the apparatus to stabilize the cartridge.
