Abstract
An electronics housing comprises interlocking first and second housing portions, each of the first and second housing portions including a series of assembly joints configured such that each assembly joint of the first housing portion is receivable between adjacent assembly joints of the second housing portion, each assembly joint having a tunnel arranged such that the tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the interlocking first and second housing portions align to form a channel. The electronics housing also comprises a removable, flexible cable configured to prevent separation of the interlocking first and second housing portions when arranged in the channel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An electronics housing comprising:
interlocking first and second housing portions, each of the first and second housing portions including a series of assembly joints configured such that each assembly joint of the first housing portion is receivable between adjacent assembly joints of the second housing portion, each assembly joint having a tunnel arranged such that the tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the interlocking first and second housing portions align to form a channel; and a removable, flexible cable configured to prevent separation of the interlocking first and second housing portions when arranged in the channel.
2 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein first and second interfacing sides of each assembly joint are oriented parallel to one another.
3 . The electronics housing of claim 2 wherein each assembly joint includes a nose oriented perpendicular to the first and second interfacing sides.
4 . The electronics housing of claim 3 wherein the nose of each assembly joint has four sides, and each corner of the nose defines a right angle.
5 . The electronics housing of claim 2 wherein the first and second interfacing sides of each assembly joint are angled such that the assembly joint is tapered.
6 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein removal of the flexible cable allows separation of the first housing portion from the second housing portion.
7 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein the flexible cable is removable from the electronics housing via a cable access port.
8 . The electronics housing of claim 7 wherein the flexible cable access port includes a cap attached to the flexible cable.
9 . The electronics housing of claim 6 wherein the cable access port is covered by a speaker grille.
10 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein the flexible cable is one of plural cables routed through plural channels, each channel comprised of mutually aligned tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the first and second housing portions.
11 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein the channel is arranged along a periphery of the electronics housing.
12 . The electronics housing of claim 1 wherein the flexible cable includes a plastic jacket.
13 . The electronics housing of claim 1 where the flexible cable includes a flexible steel cable.
14 . An electronics housing comprising:
interlocking first and second housing portions, each of the first and second housing portions including a series of assembly joints configured such that each assembly joint of the first housing portion is receivable between adjacent assembly joints of the second housing portion, each assembly joint having a tunnel arranged such that the tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the interlocking first and second housing portions align to form a channel running along plural sides of the housing; and a removable, flexible cable configured to prevent separation of the interlocking first and second housing portions when arranged in the channel.
15 . The electronics housing of claim 14 wherein the plural sides include parallel opposing sides.
16 . The electronics housing of claim 14 wherein the plural sides include perpendicular adjacent sides.
17 . The electronics housing of claim 14 wherein withdrawal of the flexible cable allows separation of at least one of the first and second portions of the electronics housing from electronics enclosed therein.
18 . The electronics housing of claim 14 wherein the flexible cable is one of plural flexible cables routed through plural channels, each channel comprised of mutually aligned tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the first and second housing portions.
19 . The electronics housing of claim 14 wherein the flexible cable includes a flexible steel cable and a plastic jacket.
20 . An electronics housing comprising:
interlocking first and second housing portions, each of the first and second housing portions including a series of assembly joints configured such that each assembly joint of the first housing portion is receivable between adjacent assembly joints of the second housing portion, each assembly joint having a tunnel arranged such that the tunnels of the series of assembly joints of the interlocking first and second housing portions align to form a channel; and a removable, flexible cable configured to prevent separation of the interlocking first and second housing portions when arranged in the channel, wherein the flexible cable is routed around at least one corner on a periphery of the first and second housing portions.Cited by (0)
