Sending messages wirelessly from a garment

Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for sending messages wirelessly from a garment. The system includes a wireless communication device configured to wirelessly transmit one or more digital messages to one or more mobile devices within a predefined radius of the wireless communication device. The system further includes a garment, a pouch, coupled to the garment, configured to house the wireless communication device, and a securing mechanism configured to secure the wireless communication device within the pouch.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system for sending messages wirelessly from a garment, comprising:
 a wireless communication device configured to:
 wirelessly transmit one or more digital messages to one or more mobile devices within a predefined radius of the wireless communication device; 
   a garment;   a pouch, coupled to the garment, configured to house the wireless communication device; and   a securing mechanism configured to secure the wireless communication device within the pouch.   
     
     
         2 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , further comprising a removable display panel coupled to the garment. 
     
     
         3 . The system as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the removable display panel includes visual content. 
     
     
         4 . The system as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the removable display panel is configured to be secured to a fastener on the garment. 
     
     
         5 . The system as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the removable display panel covers the pouch. 
     
     
         6 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the pouch is housed within the garment. 
     
     
         7 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the pouch is positioned along a seam in the garment. 
     
     
         8 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the pouch is concealed within the garment. 
     
     
         9 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the pouch is further configured to create a water-resistant seal around the communication device. 
     
     
         10 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication device further comprises:
 a battery configured to power a wireless transmission of the wireless communication device.   
     
     
         11 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication device is secured to the garment by a fastener. 
     
     
         12 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the digital message comprises an identifier. 
     
     
         13 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication device is further configured to broadcast the digital message using a short-range wireless communication protocol. 
     
     
         14 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the digital message is configured to cause one or more of the one or more mobile devices to retrieve content from a remote content server in response to receiving the message. 
     
     
         15 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the digital message is configured to cause at least one of the one or more mobile devices to display information to a user in response to receiving the message. 
     
     
         16 . The system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication device is further configured to wirelessly transmit the one or more digital messages to each of the one or more mobile devices that comes within the predefined radius of the wireless communication device. 
     
     
         17 . A system for sending messages wirelessly from a garment, comprising:
 a wireless communication device configured to:
 wirelessly transmit one or more digital messages to one or more mobile devices within a predefined radius of the wireless communication device, the digital message being configured to cause one or more of the one or more mobile devices to retrieve content from a remote content server in response to receiving the message; 
   a garment;   a pouch, coupled to the garment, configured to house the wireless communication device;   a securing mechanism configured to secure the wireless communication device within the pouch; and   a removable display panel coupled to the garment, the removable display panel including visual content.   
     
     
         18 . The system as recited in  claim 17 , wherein the wireless communication device is further configured to wirelessly transmit the one or more digital messages to each of the one or more mobile devices that comes within the predefined radius of the wireless communication device. 
     
     
         19 . A method for sending messages wirelessly from a garment, the method comprising:
 securing a wireless communication device within a garment, the garment being configured to house the mobile communication device;   identifying one or more mobile devices within a predefined radius of the wireless communication device; and   wirelessly transmitting, using the wireless communication device, one or more digital messages to one or more mobile devices within a predefined radius of the wireless communication device.   
     
     
         20 . The method as recited in  claim 19 , wherein the wirelessly transmitting further includes:
 wirelessly transmitting the one or more digital messages to each of the one or more mobile devices that comes within the predefined radius of the wireless communication device.
