Abstract
Ophthalmic eyewear is provided, comprising a frame and a spectacle lens having a filter and being disposed within the frame. The filter comprises a spectral characteristic that transmits red, green and blue light as mixed and emitted by an electronic display, while blocking substantially all broadband light other than the same bandwidths. Further ophthalmic eyewear is provided comprising a contact lens having a filter, wherein the filter comprises a spectral characteristic that transmits red, green and blue light as mixed and emitted by an electronic display, while blocking substantially all broadband light other than the same bandwidths.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Ophthalmic eyewear, comprising:
a frame; a spectacle lens having a filter and being disposed within the frame; wherein the filter comprises a three band band-pass filter that passes three narrow bands of light having centers between 400 nm and 480 nm, between 481 nm and 590 nm, and between 591 nm and 700 nm.
2 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 1 , wherein each band includes various levels of transmission within the band.
3 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 2 , wherein each lens is configured to pass a greater proportion of broadband light in dim lighting conditions.
4 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 2 , wherein each lens is configured to pass a lesser proportion of broadband light in bright lighting conditions.
5 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 1 , wherein each band is configured to have various widths.
6 . Ophthalmic eyewear, comprising:
a contact lens having a filter; wherein the filter comprises a three band band-pass filter that passes three narrow bands of light having centers between 400 nm and 480 nm, between 481 nm and 590 nm, and between 591 nm and 700 nm.
7 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 6 , wherein each band includes various levels of transmission within the band.
8 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 7 , wherein each lens is configured to pass a greater proportion of broadband light in dim lighting conditions.
9 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 7 , wherein each lens is configured to pass a lesser proportion of broadband light in bright lighting conditions.
10 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 6 , wherein the filter covers the entire contact lens.
11 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 6 , wherein the filter covers only a central portion of the contact lens, such that a peripheral portion of the lens is unfiltered.
12 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 6 , wherein the contact lens comprises a soft lens, rigid lens, hybrid lens, intracorneal lens, corneal onlay, or intraocular lens.
13 . The ophthalmic eyewear of claim 6 , wherein each band is configured to have various widths.Cited by (0)
