Abstract

Example implementations relate to the automatic ordering of laundry supplies. For example, an appliance may include a fluid detection sensor to detect an amount of laundry supplies present within the appliance, where the fluid detection sensor is to detect a first level of fluid in a first container in the appliance. The appliance may also include a processor coupled to the fluid detection sensor, where the processor is to compare the first level of the fluid to a predetermined threshold level and automatically send a request to order a new container when the first level of the fluid in the first container reaches the predetermined threshold level and where the request is sent over a network.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An appliance, comprising:
a fluid detection sensor to detect an amount of laundry supplies present within the appliance, the fluid detection sensor to detect a first level of fluid in a first container in the appliance; a processor coupled to the fluid detection sensor, the processor to:
compare the first level of the fluid to a predetermined threshold level; and
automatically send a request to order a new container when the first level of the fluid in the first container reaches the predetermined threshold level, wherein the request is sent over a network.

2 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the appliance is a washing machine and wherein the fluid is laundry detergent, softener, bleach, or a fragrance.

3 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the first container removable and replaceable by the new container.

4 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the processor is to identify a prior frequency of usage of the fluid and wherein the request is automatically sent based on the predetermined threshold level and the prior frequency of usage of the fluid.

5 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the processor is to identify a type associated with the fluid in the first container and wherein the request to order the new container specifies the type.

         6 . A method, comprising:
monitoring, by a computing device, a first level of fluid in a first container in the computing device housing laundry supplies to be used during operation of the computing device; determining, by the computing device, whether the first level of the fluid in the first container reaches a predetermined threshold level; and automatically providing, by the computing device, a request to order a new container when the first level reaches the predetermined threshold level, the request being provided to a server over a network.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the computing device is a washing machine and wherein the fluid is laundry detergent, softener, bleach, or a fragrance.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first container is removable and replaceable by the new container.

9 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
identifying, by the computing device, a prior frequency of usage of the fluid, wherein the request is automatically provided based on the predetermined threshold level and the prior frequency of usage of the fluid.

10 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
identifying, by the computing device, a type associated with the fluid in the first container, wherein the request to order the new container specifies the type.

11 . A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to:
identify a first level of fluid in a first container in the computing device housing laundry supplies to be used during operation of the computing device; compare the first level of the fluid in the first container to a predetermined threshold level; and automatically provide a request to order a new container when the first level reaches the predetermined threshold level, the request being provided to a server over a network.

12 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the computing device is a washing machine and wherein the fluid is laundry detergent, softener, bleach, or a fragrance.

13 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the first container is removable and replaceable by the new container.

14 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further cause the computing device to:
identify a prior frequency of usage of the fluid, wherein the request is automatically provided based on the predetermined threshold level and the prior frequency of usage of the fluid.

15 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further cause the computing device to:
identify a type associated with the fluid in the first container, wherein the request to order the new container specifies the type.
