Abstract
A composition having a base-substrate component fixably attached to a substantially planar first surface of a resilient component; a spacer component fixably attached to a substantially planar second surface of the resilient component, wherein the spacer component is a rigid structure having a planar surface with four raised flanges thereon, the four raised flanges being collectively positioned in a cross-like configuration; and at least one tile in contact with the spacer component.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A composition comprising:
a base-substrate component fixably attached to a substantially planar first surface of a resilient component; a spacer component fixably attached to a substantially planar second surface of the resilient component, wherein the spacer component is a rigid structure having a planar surface with four raised flanges thereon, the four raised flanges being collectively positioned in a cross-like configuration; and at least one tile in contact with the spacer component.
2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the tile is a paver tile.
3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the tile is a porcelain tile.
4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein a right-angle corner of at least one tile is in contact with the spacer component.
5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein four right-angle corners from four separate tiles are in contact with the spacer component.
6 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the first base-substrate component is a rigid-plastic structure having a plurality of internal support walls; at least one external support wall, and a first locking component disposed in the at least one external support wall.
7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the base-substrate component is fixably attached to the substantially planar first surface of the resilient component using adhesive, and wherein the spacer component is fixably attached to a substantially planar second surface of the resilient component using adhesive.
8 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising grout between two adjacent tile edges.
9 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the resilient component is a polymer-containing component.
10 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the resilient component is a rubber-containing component.
11 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the resilient component is foam rubber.
12 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a wire that is in contact with the composition's exterior-tile edges.
13 . A composition comprising:
a base-substrate component fixably attached to a spacer component; the spacer component being a rigid structure and having a planar surface with four raised flanges thereon, the four raised flanges being collectively positioned in a cross-like configuration, the spacer component having a first cross-shaped polymeric element positioned between the four flanges, a second cross-shaped polymeric element positioned between the four flanges, the second cross-shaped polymeric element touching and adjacent to the first cross-shaped polymeric element, the first and second cross-shaped polymeric elements being fixably attached to the spacer component; and at least one tile in contact with the spacer component.
14 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the base-substrate component is a rigid-plastic structure having a plurality of internal support walls, at-least-one external support wall, and a first locking component disposed in the at-least-one external support wall.
15 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the base-substrate component is fixably attached to the spacer component using a screw.
16 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the first and second polymeric elements are fixably attached to the paver spacer component using a screw.
17 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the tile is a paver tile.
18 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the tile is a porcelain tile.
19 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein a right-angle corner of at least one tile is in contact with the spacer component.
20 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein four right-angle corners from four separate tiles are in contact with the spacer component.
21 . The composition of claim 20 , wherein each of the four right-angle corners are pressure fit with the spacer component and thereby deform the first cross-shaped polymeric element due to the pressure from each of the four right-angle corners.
22 . The composition of claim 13 , further comprising a wire that is in contact with the composition's exterior-tile edges.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
