Abstract

A computer system is operated to prevent fraud in a money transfer receive transaction. A send transaction request is received from a sender for a money transfer including a send amount. The sender is prompted to select one or more security inputs to be supplied by a receiver for redemption of the money transfer. A send transaction record is stored with the selected one or more security inputs in a server. A receive transaction request is then received from the receiver. The receiver is prompted for the one or more security inputs set for redemption of the money transfer, and the provided one or more security inputs from the receiver are received. The received one or more security inputs are authenticated, and release of funds in the send amount is authorized if the received one or more security inputs are authenticated.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

2 . A server for reducing fraud in a money transfer, the server configured to:
receive, from a send computer, a send request to send a money transfer; storing the send request as a stored record; receive a request to access the stored record, the request being associated with a location; allow access to the stored record at the location when the location is a first location at which the stored record is accessed; and deny access to the stored record when the location is not the first location at which the send request is accessed.

3 . The server of claim 2 , being configured to:
receive, from the send computer, at least one security measure associated with the send request; receive at the location at least one security input; and wherein to allow access to the stored record at the location, the server is configured to authenticate the at least one security input.

4 . The server of claim 3 , wherein the at least one security measure corresponds to one of a plurality of security levels.

5 . The server of claim 4 , wherein each security level of the plurality of security levels is associated with a number of security inputs, and wherein a number of security inputs associated with a security level of the plurality of security levels is different than a number of security inputs associated with any other security level of the plurality of security levels.

6 . The server of claim 2 , being configured to:
receive, from the send computer, an approval to allow access to the stored record at the location when the location is not the first location at which the stored record is accessed; and override the denied access to the stored record.

7 . The server of claim 3 , the server being configured to:
receive, from the send computer, at least one of a reference number and a money transfer amount; and wherein to allow access to the stored record at the location, the server is configured to authenticate at least one of the reference number and the money transfer amount.

8 . The server of claim 3 , wherein the at least one security input comprises at least one of a personal identification number (PIN), a photograph identification, a data encoded identification, and biometric identification.

9 . The server of claim 8 , wherein the data encoded identification is information encoded on the photograph identification.

10 . A method for reducing fraud in a money transfer, the method comprising:
receiving a send request to send a money transfer; storing the send request as a stored record; receiving a request to access the stored record, the request being associated with a location; allowing access to the stored record at the location when the location is a first location at which the stored record is accessed; and denying access to the stored record when the location is not the first location at which the stored record is accessed.

11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving at least one security measure associated with the send request; receiving at the location at least one security input; and wherein allowing access to the stored record comprises authenticating the at least one security input.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one security measure corresponds to one of a plurality of security levels.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein each security level of the plurality of security levels is associated with a number of security inputs, and wherein a number of security inputs associated with a security level of the plurality of security levels is different than a number of security inputs associated with any other security level of the plurality of security levels.

14 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving an approval from a sender of the send request to allow access to the stored record at the location when the location is not the first location at which the stored record is accessed; and overriding the denied access to the stored record.

15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving at least one of a reference number and a money transfer amount; and wherein allowing access to the stored record at the location comprises authenticating at least one of the reference number and the money transfer amount.

16 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one security input comprises at least one of a personal identification number (PIN), a photograph identification, a data encoded identification, and biometric identification.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the data encoded identification is information encoded on the photograph identification.

18 . An computer used in a system for reducing fraud in a money transfer, the computer being configured to:
receive a request to access a send request to send a money transfer; send the request and a location of the computer to another computer; receive access to the send request when the location of the computer is a first location at which the send location is accessed; and receive denial of access to the send request when the location of the computer is not the first location at which the send request is accessed.

19 . The computer of claim 18 , being configured to:
receive at the location at least one security input; send the at least one security input to the another computer; and wherein the received access to the send request is based on the at least one security input being authenticated.

20 . The computer of claim 19 , wherein the at least one security input comprises at least one of a personal identification number (PIN), a photograph identification, a data encoded identification, and biometric identification.

21 . The computer of claim 20 , wherein the data encoded identification is information encoded on the photograph identification.
