Aircraft Inspection System with Visualization and Recording
Abstract
A method and system for a vehicle inspection system. The vehicle inspection system comprises a mobile inspection device, a display system for the mobile inspection device, a graphical user interface configured to be displayed on the display system, and a controller configured to operate with the mobile inspection device. The controller is configured to identify a position of the mobile inspection device within a vehicle. The controller is configured to identify a set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device. The controller is also configured to display the set of notes on the graphical user interface on the display system.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A vehicle inspection system comprising:
a mobile inspection device; a display system for the mobile inspection device; a graphical user interface configured to be displayed on the display system; and a controller configured to operate with the mobile inspection device, wherein the controller is configured to identify a position of the mobile inspection device within a vehicle; identify a set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device; and display the set of notes on the graphical user interface on the display system.
2 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the set of notes identified is based on a role of a human operator of the mobile inspection device.
3 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the set of notes identified is based on a policy applied to a role of a human operator of the mobile inspection device.
4 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 2 , wherein the role of the human operator is selected from a group comprising an inspector, a reviewer, a data collector, a customer, and a certifier.
5 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein in identifying the set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device, the controller identifies a role of a human operator, identifies any notes within the field of view of the mobile inspection device; and determines which notes are viewable by the human operator based on the role of the human operator to form the set of notes.
6 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 5 , wherein each note has an identification of what roles can view a particular note.
7 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein identifying the set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device, the controller identifies any notes present in the field of view of the mobile inspection device; and assigns a graphical indicator to each note present in the field of view of the mobile inspection device, wherein the graphical indicator indicates a status of the note and wherein the graphical indicator assigned is displayed with each note.
8 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 7 , wherein the graphical indicator indicates the status selected from a group consisting of new, in progress, and completed.
9 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 further comprising:
a storage system in which a history of notes is stored, wherein the history of notes comprises notes created from an inspection of the vehicle.
10 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the controller is located in at least one of the mobile inspection device or a remote computer in communication with the mobile inspection device.
11 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the set of notes displayed on the graphical user interface on the display system for the mobile inspection device forms at least one of a mixed reality environment or an augmented reality environment.
12 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein a note in the set of notes comprises a graphical indicator and details selected from at least one of text, voice, an image, or a video.
13 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile inspection device is selected from a group consisting of a mobile phone, a head mounted display, mixed reality smart glasses, and a tablet computer.
14 . The vehicle inspection system of claim 1 , wherein the set of notes is generated during one of a final inspection prior to delivery to a customer, maintenance, an assembly of the vehicle, and a certification of the vehicle.
15 . A method for viewing a set of notes an inspection of a vehicle, the method comprising:
identifying, by a controller, a position of a mobile inspection device within the vehicle; identifying, by the controller, a set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device; and displaying, by the controller, the set of notes on a graphical user interface on a display system for the mobile inspection device.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein identifying, by the controller, the set of notes in the field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device comprises:
identifying, by the controller, the set of notes in the field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device based a role of a human operator of the mobile inspection device.
17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein identifying, by the controller, the set of notes in the field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device comprises:
identifying, by the controller, the set of notes in the field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device based on a policy applied to a role of a human operator of the mobile inspection device.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the role of the human operator is selected from a group comprising an inspector, a reviewer, a data collector, a customer, and a certifier.
19 . The method of claim 15 , wherein identifying, by the controller, the set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device comprises:
identifying, by the controller, a role of a human operator; identifying, by the controller, any notes within the field of view of the mobile inspection device; and determining, by the controller, which notes are viewable by the human operator based on the role of the human operator to form the set of notes.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each note has an identification of what roles can view a particular note.
21 . The method of claim 15 , wherein identifying the set of notes in a field of view of the mobile inspection device for the position of the mobile inspection device comprises:
identifying, by the controller, any notes present in the field of view of the mobile inspection device; and assigning, by the controller, a graphical indicator to each note present in the field of view of the mobile inspection device, wherein the graphical indicator indicates a status of the note and wherein the graphical indicator assigned is displayed with each note.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the graphical indicator indicates the status selected from a group consisting of new, in progress, and completed.
21 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the controller is located in at least one of the mobile inspection device or a remote computer in communication with the mobile inspection device.
22 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the set of notes displayed on the graphical user interface on the display system for the mobile inspection device forms at least one of a mixed reality environment or an augmented reality environment.
23 . The method of claim 15 , wherein a note in the set of notes comprises a graphical indicator and details selected from at least one of text, voice, an image, or a video.
24 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the mobile inspection device is selected from a group consisting of a mobile phone, a head mounted display, mixed reality smart glasses, and a tablet computer.
25 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the set of notes is generated during one of a final inspection prior to delivery to a customer, maintenance, an assembly of the vehicle, and a certification of the vehicle.Cited by (0)
