Abstract

A brush head for a toothbrush with bunches of bristles inserted therein, wherein at least one of these bunches of bristles protrudes out of the bristle surface in a perpendicular fashion and at least one of these bunches is inclined, and is characterized in that the inclined bunches of bristles comprise cylindrical bristles, and in that at least some of the bunches which protrude in a perpendicular fashion comprise pointed bristles.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A brush head for a toothbrush, the brush head having a longitudinal axis and comprising:
 a bristle surface with tufts of bristles set therein,   wherein the tufts of bristles comprise a first bristle tuft that is perpendicular to the bristle surface, a second tuft that is angled on the bristle surface, and a third tuft that is angled on the bristle surface;   wherein the second and third tufts form an X shape as viewed from a side of the head; and   wherein the first tuft consists of pointed bristles and the second and third tufts consist of cylindrical bristles.
