Procedure, apparatus, system, and computer program for collecting data used for analytics

Abstract

A procedure for operating a communication network including a network device that is in communication in the network with at least one user communication terminal and at least one server that server that provides content. The procedure includes receiving a message from one of the user communication terminal and the server, inserting at least one of an identifier of the user communication terminal and an identifier of the server in the message, and forwarding the message, including the at least one identifier inserted in the inserting, towards another of the user communication terminal and the server. A computer program, apparatus, and communication network also operate in accordance with the procedure.

         38 . A procedure for operating a network device, the procedure comprising:
 providing a first message to a server, the first message including an anonymous subscriber identity;   receiving a second message from the server in response to the first message, the second message including content that reflects interests related to a subscriber associated with the anonymous subscriber identity, the interests determined based on an interest profile of the subscriber;   generating a content record based on the second message; and   providing, to a user communication terminal, the content that reflects the interests related to the subscriber.   
     
     
         39 . The procedure of  claim 38 , wherein the anonymous subscriber identity includes at least one cookie. 
     
     
         40 . The procedure of  claim 38 , further comprising obtaining the interest profile in response to a further message being received from the user communication terminal, and wherein the first message also includes the interest profile. 
     
     
         41 . The procedure of  claim 38 , wherein the interest profile includes analytics data reflecting interests of the subscriber built based on a history of subscriber interactions and a prediction of subscriber future behavior. 
     
     
         42 . The procedure of  claim 40 , further comprising generating an initial content record in response to the further message being received from the user communication terminal. 
     
     
         43 . The procedure of  claim 38 , wherein the content record includes at least one of the anonymous subscriber identity, an IP address, a host, a device type, a set cookie, a referrer with query string, a cookie, a content type, a timestamp, or a subscriber location. 
     
     
         44 . The method of  claim 42 , further comprising providing the initial content record to an analytics engine function, and wherein the user interest profile is obtained in the obtaining from the analytics engine function. 
     
     
         45 . The method of  claim 38 , wherein the interest profile is obtained by the server, and wherein the server generates the content that reflects the interests related to the subscriber based on the interest profile. 
     
     
         46 . The method of  claim 40 , wherein the further message includes a HTTP request. 
     
     
         47 . An apparatus comprising:
 a memory storing a program; and   at least one processor arranged to execute the program stored in the memory to perform a method comprising:
 providing a first message to a server, the first message including an anonymous subscriber identity, 
 receiving a second message from the server in response to the first message, the second message including content that reflects interests related to a subscriber associated with the anonymous subscriber identity, the interests determined based on an interest profile of the subscriber, 
 generating a content record based on the second message, and 
 providing, to a user communication terminal, the content that reflects the interests related to the subscriber. 
   
     
     
         48 . The apparatus of  claim 47 , wherein the anonymous subscriber identity includes at least one cookie. 
     
     
         49 . The apparatus of  claim 47 , wherein the method further comprises obtaining the interest profile in response to a further message being received from the user communication terminal, and wherein the first message also includes the interest profile. 
     
     
         50 . The apparatus of  claim 47 , wherein the interest profile includes analytics data reflecting interests of the subscriber built based on a history of subscriber interactions and a prediction of subscriber future behavior. 
     
     
         51 . The apparatus of  claim 49 , wherein the method further comprises further comprising generating an initial content record in response to the further message being received from the user communication terminal. 
     
     
         52 . The apparatus of  claim 47 , wherein the content record includes at least one of the anonymous subscriber identity, an IP address, a host, a device type, a set cookie, a referrer with query string, a cookie, a content type, a timestamp, or a subscriber location. 
     
     
         53 . The apparatus of  claim 51 , wherein the method further comprises providing the initial content record to an analytics engine function, and wherein the user interest profile is obtained in the obtaining from the analytics engine function. 
     
     
         54 . The apparatus of  claim 47 , wherein the interest profile is obtained by the server, and wherein the server generates the content that reflects the interests related to the subscriber based on the interest profile. 
     
     
         55 . The apparatus of  claim 49 , wherein the further message includes a HTTP request. 
     
     
         56 . A computer-readable medium storing a program which, when executed by a computer processor, causes the computer processor to perform a method comprising:
 providing a first message to a server, the first message including an anonymous subscriber identity,   receiving a second message from the server in response to the first message, the second message including content that reflects interests related to a subscriber associated with the anonymous subscriber identity, the interests determined based on an interest profile of the subscriber,   generating a content record based on the second message, and   providing, to a user communication terminal, the content that reflects the interests related to the subscriber.   
     
     
         57 . The computer-readable medium of  claim 56 , wherein the method further comprises obtaining the interest profile in response to a further message being received from the user communication terminal, and wherein the first message also includes the interest profile.
