Abstract

A computer desk construction consisting of a desk top made up of multiple joined pieces that create a single continuous textured surface for use of a computer mouse or similar technologies, as well as adjustable legs, supportive framework, and net for cable management. The desktop joins to a framework and legs for support and stability for a user in a seated or standing position. The sectioning of parts results in smaller, lighter sections than conventional computer desks, dramatically reducing shipping and handling costs. The desk can also be easily disassembled for shipment or storage. Further, the desk incorporates a single continuous textured surface which serves to smoothly conceal the seams and to provide a soft, supportive surface in which users can operate a computer mouse or similar technology. The desk includes a plurality of slits in the single continuous textured surface and a concealed net for efficient cable management.

Claims

I claim:

         1 . A computer desk comprising:
a desk top, said desk top being comprised of individual desk sections which fit together to create a flat surface, and in which said desk top includes at least one hole such as to allow cords to pass through or a monitor stand to be mounted; a desk cover, said desk cover comprising a single continuous textured surface fitted to sit completely over said desk top, and in which said desk cover includes at least one slit such as to allow cords to pass through or a monitor stand to be mounted, said slit aligned with said hole in said desk top; a framework, said framework joining with the underside of said desk top; a net, said net suspended between said desk top and said framework and in which said net serves to hold cables and other electronics equipment against the bottom of said computer desk; at least two legs, said legs connecting with said framework; and at least two leg supporting bases, said legs being supported by said leg supporting bases.

2 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , where said desk cover is comprised of fabric, microfiber cloth, neoprene, or similar material.

3 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , where said desk cover is comprised of a washable material.

4 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , where said desk cover has a non-slip backing.

5 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said desk top is comprised of two or more individual desk sections.

6 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said desk top includes at least one hole, and said desk cover include at least one slit, such as to allow cords to pass through.

7 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said desk top includes at least one hole, and said desk cover include at least one slit, such as to allow a computer monitor to be mounted.

8 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said leg supporting bases are provided at a top end thereof is inserted into a box for increased stability.

9 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said legs are adjustable as to height.

10 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said legs are hollow.

11 . A computer desk as defined in claim 1 , wherein said framework is made up of at least two supporting beams, said supporting beams being joined in the middle by a supporting beam strengthener.

         12 . A computer desk comprising:
a desk top, said desk top being comprised of individual desk sections which fit together to create a flat surface; a desk cover, said desk cover composed of a single continuous textured surface fitted to sit completely over said desk top; a framework, said framework joining with the underside of said desk top; and at least two legs, said legs connecting with said framework.

         13 . A computer desk comprising:
a desk top, said desk top being comprised of individual desk sections which fit together to create a flat surface; a desk cover, said desk cover fitted to sit completely over said desk top, and in which said desk cover includes at least one slit such as to allow cords to pass through or a monitor stand to be mounted, said slit aligned with said hole in said desk top; a net, said net suspended between said desk top and said framework and in which said net serves to hold cables and other electronics equipment against the bottom of said computer desk; a framework, said framework joining with the underside of said desk top; and a single leg, said leg connecting with said framework; a leg supporting base, said leg being supported by said leg supporting base.

14 . A computer desk as defined in claim 13 , where said leg is hollow to allow cables to pass through.

15 . A computer desk as defined in claim 13 , where said at least one hole is sufficient for the mounting of a computer monitor arm.
