Abstract
The present invention relates to the compositions comprising 15-HEPE and methods of treatment relating to same.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
. A pharmaceutical composition comprising 15-HEPE or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 100 mg to 1000 mg of 15-HEPE or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof comprises an ester, a conjugate, a salt, or a combination thereof.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 15-HEPE is in free acid form.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 15-HEPE is in esterified form.
. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the esterified form is a methyl ester form, an ethyl ester form, or a combination thereof.
. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the esterified form is a triglyceride form.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 15-HEPE is in salt form.
. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 15-HEPE (1) comprises 15(S)-HEPE and/or 15(R)-HEPE, (2) consists of 15(S)-HEPE or (3) consists of 15(R)-HEPE.
. A method of treating a disease in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a composition comprising 15-HEPE or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the disease is selected from the group consisting of impaired insulin sensitivity, psoriasis, fibrosis, cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, inflammatory diseases, adipocyte differentiation, fertility or reproduction issues, pain, and obesity.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the cancer is a skin cancer.
. The method of claim 12 , wherein the skin cancer is melanoma.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the neurodegenerative disorder is Huntington's disease.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the fibrosis is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof comprises an ester, a conjugate, a salt, or a combination thereof.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the disease is reduced in comparison to a second subject who has not been administered the composition, and optionally, has been administered a placebo.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the effective amount of the composition comprising 15-HEPE or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof is between about 100 mg to about 2000 mg.
. A method of increasing absorption of 15-HEPE comprising, administering a composition comprising 15-HEPE or derivative thereof to a subject in need thereof that is in a fed state.
. The method of claim 19 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof comprises an ester, a conjugate, a salt, or a combination thereof.Cited by (0)
