Abstract

A waterfall gutter system comprises at least one J-shaped rain gutter configured to be attached to edges of a roof wherein mounting hardware is located at an underside of the gutter and a funnel independently attachable at its lower end to a top end of a downspout wherein there is a vertical gap between a top of the funnel and an end of the gutter wherein water can be seen to flow or not flow from the end of the gutter into the top of the funnel from a position of a person standing at ground level.

22 . A method for clearing debris from a gutter system comprising:
providing a rain gutter configured to be attached to edges of a roof; wherein mounting hardware to attach and support said rain gutter to said roof is located at an underside of said gutter; and wherein contents of the rain gutter are visible from below the gutter through a transparent strip within the rain gutter.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising infusing the transparent strip between two opaque portions of a rain gutter.

24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the transparent strip extends from a first horizontal end of the rain gutter to a second horizontal end of the rain gutter.

25 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising recognizing by a user an obstruction in the rain gutter based on a visual block in the transparent strip observed from beneath the rain gutter at a ground level.

26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the width of the transparent strip is such that it would not be generally visible to an observer from a sidewalk or a street, or such that the transparent strip would only be visible to a viewer from directly below the rain gutter.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the transparent strip is minimally large enough to show light, such that a visual block may be viewed from a ground level.

28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the gutter is made of 3/16″ PVC and wherein the transparent strip is comprised of clear PVC and has a width of approximately ½″.

29 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising the step of applying a clearing device to a region of the rain gutter in which the visual block is observed from a ground level.

30 . The method claim 29 , further comprising wherein the clearing device is a cleaning pad attached to a pole.
