System information broadcast in machine-to-machine radio access systems
Abstract
A method for broadcasting system information to a machine-type-communication (MTC) terminal performing machine-type-communication, the method including: repeatedly transmitting, by a base station, a plurality of system-information blocks (SIBs) and content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, using a contiguous physical allocation of six physical resource blocks (PRBs); accumulatively detecting, by the MTC terminal, the plurality of SIBs and the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; detecting, by the MTC terminal, a plurality of change flags, each of the plurality of change flags representing a change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; and until a change flag of the plurality of change flags represents a change of the content, reusing, by the MTC terminal, the content of the SIB associated with the change flag from among the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.

1 . A method for broadcasting system information to a machine-type-communication (MTC) terminal performing machine-type-communication, the method comprising:
repeatedly transmitting, by a base station, a plurality of system-information blocks (SIBs) and content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, using a contiguous physical allocation of six physical resource blocks (PRBs); accumulatively detecting, by the MTC terminal, the plurality of SIBs and the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; detecting, by the MTC terminal, a plurality of change flags, each of the plurality of change flags representing a change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; and until a change flag of the plurality of change flags represents a change of the content, reusing, by the MTC terminal, the content of the SIB associated with the change flag from among the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein
the contiguous physical allocation of six PRBs is a contiguous physical allocation of six PRBs on a central band.
3 . The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising:
when the change flag represents the change of the content, updating, by the MTC terminal, the content of the SIB associated with the change flag, wherein the reusing reuses content of the SIB associated with the change flag previously stored when the change flag represents an absence of a change of the content.
4 . The method of claim 3 , the method further comprising:
storing, by the MTC terminal, the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, wherein the reusing reuses a previous content of the SIB associated with the change flag stored in the storing when the change flag represents the absence of the change of the content, and the updating stores a current content of the SIB detected in the accumulatively detecting and updates the previous content stored in the storing.
5 . A machine-type-communication (MTC) terminal performing machine-type-communication, the MTC terminal comprising a processor configured to:
accumulatively detect a plurality of system-information blocks (SIBs) and content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, the plurality of SIBs and the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs being repeatedly transmitted by a base station using a contiguous physical allocation of six physical resource blocks (PRBs); detect a plurality of change flags, each of the plurality of change flags representing a change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs; and until a change flag of the plurality of change flags represents a change of the content, reuse the content of the SIB associated with the change flag from among the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.
6 . The MTC terminal of claim 5 , wherein
the contiguous physical allocation of six PRBs is a contiguous physical allocation of six PRBs on a central band.
7 . The MTC terminal of claim 5 , the processor further configured to:
when the change flag represents the change of the content, update the content of the SIB associated with the change flag, wherein in the reusing, the processor reuses content of the SIB associated with the change flag previously stored when the change flag represents an absence of a change of the content.
8 . The MTC terminal of claim 7 , the processor further configured to:
store the contents associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, wherein in the reusing, the processor reuses a previous content of the SIB associated with the change flag stored in the storing when the change flag represents the absence of the change of the content, and in the updating, the processor stores a current content of the SIB detected in the accumulatively detecting and updates the previous content stored in the storing.
9 . A base station broadcasting system information to a machine-type-communication (MTC) terminal performing machine-type-communication, the base station comprising a processor configured to:
repeatedly transmit a plurality of system-information blocks (SIBs) including content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, using a contiguous physical allocation of six physical resource blocks (PRBs) on a central band; and transmit information of a plurality of change flags corresponding to the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, the information representing a change of the content, in order to indicate to the MTC terminal the change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.
10 . The base station of claim 9 , the processor further configured to:
transmit information of the plurality of change flags corresponding to the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs, the information representing an absence of a change of the content, in order to indicate to the MTC terminal the absence of the change of the content associated with each of the plurality of SIBs.Cited by (0)
