Abstract

A method for passing content to at least one communicator device. The user of a communicator device registers with at least one service provider for delivering a plurality of different types of content to be passed to the at least one communicator device. A user defined priority is assigned to the at least one type of content. The user defined priority is stored on a computer readable medium. The different types of content are passed to the at least one communicator device based on the user defined priority.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 16 . (canceled)

         17 . A method, comprising:
 storing user-defined priorities in a user input database, the user-defined priorities including instructions to:
 pass content via a first service provider when the first service provider is available,
 pass content via a second service provider having a bandwidth limitation when the first service provider is not available, or
 reject content when the first service provider is not available;
   determining whether the first service provider is available to pass content to a communicator device; obtaining the user-defined priorities from the user input database; and resolving content requests according to the user-defined priorities and an availability of the first service provider, wherein resolving content requests includes selectively:
 outputting content to communicator devices via the first service provider,
 outputting content to communicator devices via the second service provider having the bandwidth limitation, or
 rejecting content such that communicator devices do not receive the content.

         18 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions to pass content via the second service provider further comprise instructions to pass the content via a mobile phone network.

         19 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions to pass content via the first service provider further comprise instructions to pass the content via the Internet.

         20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content originates directly from the first service provider or the second service provider.

         21 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first service provider or the second service provider receives the content from a third-party vendor.

         22 . A system, comprising:
 a user input database containing user-defined priorities, the user-defined priorities including instructions to:
 pass content via a first service provider when the first service provider is available;
 pass content via a second service provider having a bandwidth limitation when the first service provider is not available; or
 reject content when the first service provider is not available;
   a prioritization unit that:
 determines whether the first service provider is available to pass content to a communicator device;
 obtains the user-defined priorities from the user input database; and
 resolves content requests according to the user-defined priorities and an availability of the first service provider, wherein resolving content requests includes selectively:
 outputting content to communicator devices via the first service provider;
 outputting content to communicator devices via the second service provider having the bandwidth limitation; or
 rejecting content such that communicator devices do not receive the content.

         23 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the instructions to pass the content via the second service provider further comprise instructions to pass the content via a mobile phone network.

         24 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the instructions to pass the content via the first service provider further comprises instructions to pass the content via the Internet.

         25 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the content originates directly from the first service provider or the second service provider.

         26 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the first service provider or the second service provider receives the content from a third-party vendor.

         27 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium (CRSM) storing instructions that, when executed by a computer processor, cause a system to:
 determine whether a first service provider is available to pass content to a communicator device; obtain user-defined priorities from a user input database, wherein the user-defined priorities include instructions to: pass content via the first service provider when the first service provider is available; pass content via a second service provider having a bandwidth limitation when the first service provider is not available; or reject content when the first service provider is not available; and resolve content requests according to the user-defined priorities and an availability of the first service provider, wherein resolving content requests includes selectively: outputting content to communicator devices via the first service provider; outputting content to communicator devices via the second service provider having the bandwidth limitation; or rejecting content such that communicator devices do not receive the content.

         28 . The CRSM of claim 11 , wherein passing the content via the second service provider comprises passing the content via a mobile phone network.

         29 . The CRSM of claim 11 , wherein passing the content via the first service provider comprises passing the content via the Internet.

         30 . The CRSM of claim 11 , wherein the first service provider or the second service provider receives the content from a third-party vendor.

         31 . The CRSM of claim 11 , wherein the first service provider or the second service provider receives the content from a third-party vendor.
