Abstract
A precision-locating dowel pin includes a threaded portion configured for adjustable attachment to a fixed object, a head integrally formed at the top of the threaded portion, and a top surface at the top of the head. The head is selectively machined and treated to provide a radially exterior precision-locating surface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A precision-locating dowel pin for use with a fixed object, the precision-locating dowel pin comprising:
a threaded portion configured for adjustable attachment to the fixed object; a head integrally formed at the top of the threaded portion; a top surface at the top of the head; wherein the head is selectively machined and treated to provide a radially exterior precision-locating surface.
2 . The precision-locating dowel pin according to claim 1 , wherein the head portion comprises:
a shaft; and an upper portion; wherein the shaft and the upper portion have the same diameter.
3 . The precision-locating dowel pin according to claim 1 , wherein the head portion comprises:
a shaft; and an upper portion; wherein the upper portion tapers inward over a selected distance toward top surface.
4 . The precision-locating dowel pin according to claim 1 , wherein the threaded portion comprises:
at least one annular groove; and a sealing member disposed within the annular groove.
5 . The precision-locating dowel pin according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a bore in the head for receiving a driving tool.
6 . A precision-locating radial locator for use with a fixed object, the precision-locating radial locator comprising:
a threaded portion configured for adjustable attachment to the fixed object; a first shaft integrally formed at the top of the threaded portion; a second shaft integrally formed at the top of the first shaft; and a top plate integrally formed at the top of the second shaft, the top plate having a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the second shaft; wherein the first shaft is selectively machined and treated to provide a radially exterior precision-locating surface for precision location relative to the fixed object.
7 . The precision-locating radial locator according to claim 6 , further comprising:
a bottom surface forming a radial flange on the lower end of the second shaft, the bottom surface being configured to engage the fixed object as the threaded portion is threaded into the fixed object.
8 . The precision-locating radial locator according to claim 6 , further comprising:
a plurality of fastening apertures disposed on the upper surface of the top plate, the fastening apertures being selectively configured and arranged to receive a fastening tool.
9 . The precision-locating radial locator according to claim 6 , further comprising:
at least one flat formed in an edge of the top plate, the at least one flat being selectively configured and arranged to receive a fastening tool.
10 . A precision-locating flat support for use with a fixed object, the precision-locating flat support comprising:
a threaded portion configured for adjustable attachment to the fixed object; a shaft integrally formed at the top of the threaded portion; and a tapered head integrally formed at the top of the shaft, the head having a larger diameter than the shaft at the junction of the head and the shaft, the head being tapered inward from a bottom surface toward a top the head; wherein the first shaft is selectively machined and treated to provide a radially exterior precision-locating surface for precision location relative to the fixed object.
11 . The precision-locating flat support according to claim 10 , wherein the bottom surface is configured to engage the fixed object as the threaded portion is threaded into the fixed object.
12 . The precision-locating flat support according to claim 11 , wherein the head tapers to a smooth rounded point at a selected height above the bottom surface of the head, such that the smooth rounded point supports objects at a distance above the fixed object that is equal to the selected height.
13 . The precision-locating flat support according to claim 11 , wherein the head tapers to a flat surface at a selected height above the bottom surface of the head, such that the flat surface supports objects at a distance above the fixed object that is equal to the selected height.
14 . The precision-locating flat support according to claim 10 , further comprising:
at least one flat formed in an edge of the head, the at least one flat being selectively configured and arranged to receive a fastening tool.Cited by (0)
