Abstract

A package includes a container formed to include an interior region and a mouth opening into the interior region and a closure coupled to the container to close the mouth. The closure is made from a film coupled to a brim included in the container.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 11 . (canceled)

         12 . A film for packaging a product, comprising
a protective layer and a polypropylene-based multilayer polyolefin film comprising an inner heat sealable sub-layer comprising a propylene/ethylene copolymer blended with at least two different polyethylene polymer resins each selected from the group comprising an ethylene/octene copolymer, linear low density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, ethylene vinyl acetate, and ethylene methyl acrylate, wherein the polypropylene-based multilayer polyolefin film does not fracture when exposed to a temperature in a range of about −20° C. to about 0° C. and the polypropylene-based multilayer polyolefin film layer does not melt or burst when exposed to a temperature of up to about 105° C.

13 . The film of claim 12 , wherein the polypropylene-based multilayer polyolefin film further includes a core sub-layer adjacent to the inner heat sealable sub-layer and an outer skin sub-layer formed from at least one polyethylene polymer resin.

14 . The film of claim 13 , wherein the core sub-layer includes a polymeric material having a melting point of at least 71° C. and the core sub-layer comprises a homopolymer polypropylene and a polyethylene polymer resin.

15 . The film of claim 14 , wherein the homopolymer polypropylene of the core sub-layer has a melt flow rate in a range of about 0.5 g/10 min. to about 25 g/10 min.

16 . The film of claim 14 , wherein the outer skin sub-layer includes a homopolymer polypropylene having a melt flow rate in a range of about 0.5 g/10 min. to about 25 g/10 min.

17 . The film of claim 12 , wherein the polypropylene-based multilayer polyolefin film further includes a core sub-layer adjacent to the inner heat sealable sub-layer and an outer skin sub-layer formed from at least one polyethylene polymer resin, the core sub-layer comprises a homopolymer polypropylene and a polyethylene polymer resin, the outer skin sub-layer includes a homopolymer polypropylene and at least one of the at least two different polyethylene polymer resins of the inner heat sealable sub-layer includes a polyethylene-octene copolymer.

18 . The film of claim 17 , wherein the protective layer is formed from a polyethylene terephthalate film.

19 . The film of claim 18 , wherein the protective layer has a thickness in a range of about 0.1 mil to about 3.0 mil.

20 . The film of claim 19 , wherein the protective layer has a thickness in a range of about 0.38 mil to about 1.0 mil.

21 . The film of claim 18 , wherein an adhesive layer is used to laminate the protective layer to the outer skin sub-layer.

22 . The film of claim 12 , wherein the propylene/ethylene copolymer has a melt flow rate in a range of about 0.5 g/10 min. to about 45 g/10 min.

23 . The film of claim 22 , wherein the propylene/ethylene copolymer contains an ethylene comonomer in an amount in a range of about 1% to about 8% by weight of the copolymer.

24 . The film of claim 22 , wherein at least one of the at least two different polyethylene polymer resins of the inner heat sealable sub-layer has a melt index in a range of about 0.50 g/10 min. to about 20 g/10 min.
