Display cover with webcam cover

Abstract

According to various embodiments, a display cover of an electronic display includes a cover configured to extend over the electronic display, a webcam aperture extending through the cover and configured to enable a webcam to view through the cover, and a webcam cover to be manipulated between a closed position wherein the webcam cover substantially obstructs the webcam aperture and an open position wherein the webcam cover does not substantially obstruct the webcam aperture.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A display cover for an electronic display, comprising:
 a cover configured to extend over the electronic display;   a webcam aperture extending through the cover and configured to enable a webcam to view through the cover; and   a webcam cover configured to be manipulated between a closed position wherein the webcam cover substantially obstructs the webcam aperture and an open position wherein the webcam cover does not substantially obstruct the webcam aperture.   
     
     
         2 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam cover comprises an opaque slide cover configured to slide within the webcam aperture to move between the closed position and the open position. 
     
     
         3 . The display cover of  claim 2 , further including a finger aperture to enable finger access to slide the opaque slide cover between the closed position and the open position. 
     
     
         4 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam cover is insertable within the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         5 . The display cover of  claim 4 , wherein the webcam cover comprises an opaque portion and a transparent portion. 
     
     
         6 . The display cover of  claim 5 , wherein manipulating the webcam cover to a closed position comprises inserting the webcam cover into the webcam aperture such that the opaque portion of the webcam cover substantially obstructs the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         7 . The display cover of  claim 5 , wherein manipulating the webcam cover to a open position comprises inserting the webcam cover into the webcam aperture such that the transparent portion of the webcam cover is substantially aligned with the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         8 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam cover comprises an opaque door with a living hinge. 
     
     
         9 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam cover comprises a one-way lens piece placed within the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         10 . The display cover of  claim 9 , wherein manipulating the webcam cover to a closed position comprises flipping the display cover to face the one-way lens piece toward the webcam. 
     
     
         11 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam aperture comprises a webcam gap, and wherein the display cover comprises a gap cover. 
     
     
         12 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the webcam cover comprises a sliding tab comprised of a pair of tab pieces that are attached to each other through the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         13 . The display cover of  claim 12 , wherein the sliding tab comprises a rail to slide along a railway adjacent to the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         14 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the display cover attaches to the electronic display with a magnet. 
     
     
         15 . The display cover of  claim 1 , wherein the cover is adapted to perform one or more of: protect the display, shift a color of the display, dim the display, polarize the display, provide an anti-glare surface for the display, and provide a privacy screen for the display. 
     
     
         16 . A display cover for an electronic display, comprising:
 a cover configured to extend over the electronic display;   an aperture in the cover;   a webcam cover to be manipulated between a closed position wherein the webcam cover substantially obstructs the webcam aperture and an open position wherein the webcam cover does not substantially obstruct the webcam aperture; and   a magnet configured to attach the display cover to a display.   
     
     
         17 . The display cover of  claim 16 , wherein the webcam cover comprises a one-way lens piece placed within the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         18 . The display cover of  claim 17 , wherein manipulating the webcam cover to a closed position comprises flipping the display cover to face the one-way lens piece toward a webcam. 
     
     
         19 . The display cover of  claim 16 , wherein the webcam cover is insertable within the webcam aperture. 
     
     
         20 . The display cover of  claim 17 , wherein manipulating the webcam cover to a closed position comprises inserting the webcam cover into the webcam aperture such that an opaque portion of the webcam cover substantially obstructs the webcam aperture.
