Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a technique for configuring transmission of a multicast channel carrying scheduling information and data belonging to one or more multicast services, the scheduling information indicating scheduling of the multicast services mapped to the multicast channel. A method embodiment comprises the steps of configuring (404) the transmission of the scheduling information on the multicast channel based on a scheduling information specific transmission requirement and configuring (404) the transmission of the data belonging to the one or more multicast services based on a service specific transmission requirement; and signalling (406) the scheduling information specific transmission requirement and the service specific transmission requirement.

21 . A method implemented by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:
receiving a first transmission from a network node, the first transmission comprising an indication that a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) is to be used for a second transmission, the second transmission comprising information indicating times during which one or more multicast traffic channels (MTCHs) can be transmitted; receiving the second transmission comprising the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted, the second transmission being modulated using the first MCS; receiving a third transmission, the third transmission comprising an indication that a second MCS is to be used for an MTCH transmission associated with one of the one or more MTCHs; and receiving a fourth transmission comprising the MTCH transmission, the fourth transmission being modulated using the second MCS.

22 . The method of claim 21 further comprising transmitting a block error rate (BLER) for transmissions from the network node.

23 . The method of claim 21 wherein the second transmission further comprises an indication of a radio resource for receiving the third transmission.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted comprises information indicating one or more subframes during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein both the first transmission comprising the indication that the first MCS is to be used for the second transmission and the third transmission comprising the indication that the second MCS is to be used for the MTCH transmission are received on a control channel.

26 . The method as in claim 25 , wherein the control channel is one of a broadcast control channel (BCCH) or a multicast control channel (MCCH).

27 . The method as in claim 21 , wherein the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted is transmitted periodically.

28 . A user equipment (UE) comprising a processor configured to:
receive a first transmission from a network node, the first transmission comprising an indication that a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) is to be used for a second transmission, the second transmission comprising information indicating times during which one or more multicast traffic channels (MTCHs) can be transmitted; receive the second transmission comprising the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted, the second transmission being modulated using the first MCS; receive a third transmission, the third transmission comprising an indication that a second MCS is to be used for an MTCH transmission associated with one of the one or more MTCHs; and receive a fourth transmission comprising the MTCH transmission, the fourth transmission being modulated using the second MCS.

29 . The UE of claim 28 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit a block error rate (BLER) for transmissions from the network node.

30 . The UE of claim 28 , wherein the second transmission further comprises an indication of a radio resource for receiving the third transmission.

31 . The UE of claim 28 , wherein the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted comprises information indicating one or more subframes during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted.

32 . The UE of claim 28 , wherein both the first transmission comprising the indication that the first MCS is to be used for the second transmission and the third transmission comprising the indication that the second MCS is to be used for the MTCH transmission are received on a control channel.

33 . The UE of claim 32 , wherein the control channel is one of a broadcast control channel (BCCH) or a multicast control channel (MCCH).

34 . The UE of claim 28 , wherein the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs can be transmitted is transmitted periodically.

35 . A network node comprising a processor configured to:
send a first transmission comprising an indication that a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) is to be used for a second transmission, the second transmission comprising information indicating times during which one or more multicast traffic channels (MTCHs) are to be transmitted; send the second transmission comprising the information indicating times during which the one or more MTCHs are to be transmitted, the second transmission being modulated using the first MCS; send a third transmission, the third transmission comprising an indication that a second MCS is to be used for an MTCH transmission associated with one of the one or more MTCHs; and send a fourth transmission comprising the MTCH transmission, the fourth transmission being modulated using the second MCS.
