Backlight assembly and display device including the same
Abstract
A backlight assembly includes a light source portion including a plurality of light sources. The light sources are configured to emit light. A wavelength conversion member is disposed on the light source portion. The wavelength conversion member is configured to convert a wavelength of light emitted from the light source portion. The wavelength conversion member includes a first substrate disposed on the light source portion, a second substrate disposed on the first substrate, and a plurality of wavelength conversion layers interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each of the plurality of wavelength conversion layers correspond to a light source of the plurality of light sources.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A display device, comprising:
a light source portion that emits blue light; and a wavelength conversion member disposed on the light source member, wherein the wavelength conversion member converts a wavelength of the blue light emitted from the light source portion, wherein the wavelength conversion member includes a first substrate disposed on the light source portion, a second substrate disposed on the first substrate, and a plurality of wavelength conversion layers disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the plurality of wavelength conversion layers include quantum dots, and wherein the quantum dots include a III-V group compound and the quantum dots have a core-shell structure.
2 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the first substrate includes silicon oxide (SiOx), silicon nitride (SiNx), or a combination of silicon oxide and silicon nitride.
3 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the second substrate includes silicon oxide (SiOx), silicon nitride (SiNx), or a combination of silicon oxide and silicon nitride.
4 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the first substrate and the second substrate fully surround an entirety of the plurality of wavelength conversion layers.
5 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein at least one of the first substrate or the second substrate includes a plurality of recessed patterns, and wherein each of the plurality of wavelength conversion layers is disposed in each of the plurality of recessed patterns.
6 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the plurality of wavelength conversion layers convert the wavelength of the blue light emitted from the light source portion into a longer wavelength of light.
7 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the quantum dots that include the III-V group compound and have the core-shell structure include Indium (In) and Phosphorus (P).
8 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the quantum dots include a first quantum dot and a second quantum dot, and wherein a size of the first quantum dot and a size of the second quantum dot are different from each other.
9 . The display device of claim 8 ,
wherein the first quantum dot is a red quantum dot that converts the wavelength of the blue light emitted from the light source portion into a wavelength of red light, and wherein the second quantum dot is a green quantum dot that converts the wavelength of the blue light emitted from the light source portion into a wavelength of green light.
10 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the plurality of wavelength conversion layers include a dispersive medium, and wherein the quantum dots are dispersed in the dispersive medium.
11 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein the dispersive medium is an organic solvent or a polymer resin.
12 . The display device of claim 1 ,
wherein at least one of the first substrate or the second substrate includes a plurality of recessed patterns, and wherein each of the plurality of wavelength conversion layers is formed by selectively spreading wavelength conversion materials in the each of the plurality of recessed patterns using an inkjet printer.
13 . The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a sealing member disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first substrate and the second substrate are bonded to each other by the sealing member.
14 . The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:
an organic light emitting diode.Cited by (0)
