Abstract
A method of removing an auger from a food grinder via a food stomper. The food stomper has structure to engage the auger to transmit force on the stomper to the auger. As such, the stomper serves dual purpose of filling the grinder with food and as a tool for cleaning or otherwise removing an auger from the appliance.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat which is claimed:
1 . A method of removing an auger from a food grinder, the method comprising:
positioning a stomper adjacent a food grinder such that a protrusion on an auger of the food grinder is at least partially within a channel defined in a proximal handle end of the stomper, the proximal handle end being opposite a distal end adapted to push food into a receiving tube of the food grinder; engaging the protrusion on the auger with a bayonet projecting from one or more internal walls of the channel; and applying a pulling force to remove the auger from the food grinder.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the channel is defined in an end surface and a side surface of the proximal handle end.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bayonet projects from three internal walls of the channel.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bayonet has a curved engaging surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
