Abstract

This invention provides a process for sequencing single-stranded DNA or RNA by employing a nanopore and modified nucleotides.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 - 17 . (canceled)

18 . A single stranded DNA comprising one or more modified nucleotide analog, wherein, when an electric field is applied to the DNA, it produces a unique electronic signature when said DNA interacts and passes through a pore of suitable diameter.

19 . The single stranded DNA of claim 1 , wherein, when an electric field is applied to the DNA, each modified nucleotide analog produces an electronic signature which is distinguishable from that of each other type of nucleotide or nucleotide analog in the DNA when said modified nucleotide analog interacts and passes through a pore of suitable diameter.

20 . The single stranded DNA of claim 1 , wherein the one or more modified nucleotide analog comprises a modification located on the base of the nucleotide analog.

21 . The single stranded DNA of claim 2 , wherein the one or more modified nucleotide analog comprises a modification located on the base of the nucleotide analog.
