Abstract

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to efficient poll response frame in wireless communications. A device may cause to send a multiuser location trigger frame of subtype poll to one or more initiating station devices (ISTAs) in a multi-user trigger-based range measurement during a polling phase. The device may identify a first clear to send (CTS) frame received from a first ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase. The device may identify a second CTS frame received from a second ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase. The device may determine the identity of a first ISTA based on information comprised in the first CTS frame received from the first ISTA. The device may determine the identity of the second ISTA based on information comprised in the second CTS frame received from the second ISTA.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A device, the device comprising processing circuitry coupled to storage, the processing circuitry configured to:
cause to send a multiuser location trigger frame of subtype poll to one or more initiating station devices (ISTAs) in a multi-user trigger-based range measurement during a polling phase; identify a first CTS frame received from a first ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase; identify a second CTS frame received from a second ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase; determine the identity of a first ISTA based on information comprised in the first CTS frame received from the first ISTA; and determine the identity of the second ISTA based on information comprised in the second CTS frame received from the second ISTA.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the reception of the first CTS frame indicates a presence of the first ISTA to perform a ranging procedure with the device.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first ISTA is unassociated with the device and wherein the second ISTA is associated with the device.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first CTS frame is received after a short inter-frame space (SIFS) time of sending the multiuser location trigger frame of subtype poll.

5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to identify a first receiving station address (RA) included in the first CTS frame, wherein the first RA is associated with the first ISTA

6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:
assign a first resource unit (RU) to the first ISTA; and assign a second RU to the second ISTA, wherein the first RU is different than the second RU.

7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:
assign in the multiuser location trigger frame a first resource unit (RU) and a first spatial stream to the first ISTA; and assign in the multiuser location trigger frame the first RU and a second spatial stream to the second ISTA.

8 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless signals.

9 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising an antenna coupled to the transceiver to cause to send the multiuser trigger frame.

10 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which when executed by one or more processors result in performing operations comprising:
causing to send a multiuser location trigger frame of subtype poll to one or more initiating station devices (ISTAs) in a multi-user trigger-based range measurement during a polling phase; identifying a first CTS frame received from a first ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase; identifying a second CTS frame received from a second ISTA of the one or more ISTAs during the polling phase; determining the identity of a first ISTA based on information comprised in the first CTS frame received from the first ISTA; and determining the identity of the second ISTA based on information comprised in the second CTS frame received from the second ISTA.

11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the reception of the first CTS frame indicates a presence of the first ISTA to perform a ranging procedure with the device.

12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the first ISTA is unassociated with the device and wherein the second ISTA is associated with the device.

13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the first CTS frame is received after a short inter-frame space (SIFS) time of sending the multiuser location trigger frame of subtype poll.

14 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise identifying a first receiving station address (RA) included in the first CTS frame, wherein the first RA is associated with the first ISTA

15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise:
assigning a first resource unit (RU) to the first ISTA; and assigning a second RU to the second ISTA, wherein the first RU is different than the second RU.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise:
assigning in the multiuser location trigger frame a first resource unit (RU) and a first spatial stream to the first ISTA; and assigning in the multiuser location trigger frame the first RU and a second spatial stream to the second ISTA.

         17 . A method comprising:
