Claims

Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to an extruded antiperspirant composition including: a) a solid component including: a solid structurant including at least one high melt wax, a powder including an antiperspirant active agent and b) a liquid component. The solid component is present in the composition in an amount of at least 40 weight percent, the solid structurant is present in the composition in an amount of at least 30 weight percent, and the liquid component is present in the composition in an amount of at least 35 weight percent. The antiperspirant active agent is present in the composition in an amount effective to reduce perspiration in a subject.

1 . An extruded antiperspirant composition comprising:
 a) a solid component comprising:
 a solid structurant comprising at least one high melt wax, 
 a powder comprising an antiperspirant active agent, and 
   b) a liquid component,   wherein the solid component is present in the composition in an amount of at least 40 weight percent,   wherein the solid structurant is present in the composition in an amount of at least 30 weight percent,   wherein the liquid component is present in the composition in an amount of at least 35 weight percent,   wherein the antiperspirant active agent is present in the composition in an amount effective to reduce perspiration in a subject.   
     
     
         2 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the high melt wax has a melting point ranging from about 66° C. to about 71° C. 
     
     
         3 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the high melt wax is a high melt paraffin wax. 
     
     
         4 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the solid structurant is present in the composition in an amount ranging from about 30 weight % to about 40 weight %. 
     
     
         5 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the solid structurant further comprises at least one fatty acid selected from the group consisting of a C 16  to C 18  saturated fatty acid and a triglyceride. 
     
     
         6 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 5 , wherein the triglyceride comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydrogenated soybean oil and palm stearin. 
     
     
         7 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid component comprises a plant oil. 
     
     
         8 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 7 , wherein the plant oil comprises at least one oil selected from the group consisting of avocado, canola, corn, coconut, cottonseed, olive, palm, hi-oleic sunflower, mid-oleic sunflower, sunflower, palm kernel oil, safflower, and babassu oils. 
     
     
         9 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the antiperspirant active agent is an aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine complex and wherein the aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine complex is present in the composition in an amount less than about 15 weight percent. 
     
     
         10 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid component comprises a volatile silicone. 
     
     
         11 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 10 , wherein the volatile silicone is caprylyl methicone. 
     
     
         12 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid component does not comprise a volatile silicone. 
     
     
         13 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid component further comprises a semi-solid. 
     
     
         14 . The extruded antiperspirant composition of  claim 1 , wherein the solid component is present in an amount of up to about 60% by weight of the composition. 
     
     
         15 . The extruded antiperspirant composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the extruded antiperspirant composition reduces perspiration in a subject in a greater amount than a comparative antiperspirant composition that is not an extrudate or a comparative antiperspirant composition that does not contain a solid component in an amount of at least 40 weight percent, a solid structurant comprising at least one high melt wax in an amount of at least 30 weight percent and a liquid component in an amount of at least 35 weight percent.
