Abstract

Inventory data is received via a first channel of a plurality of channels of a publish-subscribe system. The inventory data indicates a quantity of inventory of an asset. The inventory data is compared to one or more thresholds for the asset. A cost of the asset is adjusted in response to comparing the inventory data to the one or more thresholds. One or more messages are published indicating an adjusted cost of the asset to a second channel of the plurality of channels of the publish-subscribe system.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method, comprising:
 receiving inventory data via a first channel of a plurality of channels of a publish-subscribe system,
 wherein the inventory data indicates a quantity of inventory of an asset;
   comparing the inventory data to one or more predetermined thresholds for the asset; adjusting a cost of the asset in response to comparing the inventory data to the one or more predetermined thresholds; and publishing, by a computer processing device, one or more messages indicating an adjusted cost of the asset to a second channel of the plurality of channels of the publish-subscribe system.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the cost of the asset comprises:
 decreasing the cost of the asset; or increasing the cost of the asset.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cost of the asset is adjusted to incentivize consumption of the asset or to disincentivize consumption of the asset.

         4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a supply threshold that indicates whether additional quantities of the asset should be obtained.

         5 . The method of  claim 4 , comprising:
 publishing a message via a third channel of the plurality of channels indicating that additional quantities of the asset should be obtained.

         6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise an expiration threshold that indicates a time when the asset should no longer be consumed.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a rate threshold that indicates a rate at which the asset has been consumed.

         8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a consumption threshold that indicates a number of the asset that has been consumed.

         9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein one or more client devices are subscribed to the second channel to receive the one or more messages.

         10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more client devices arc associated with one or more users that are in a vicinity of a location where the asset is located.

         11 . An apparatus, comprising:
 a computer processing device to:
 receive inventory data via a first channel of a plurality of channels of a publish-subscribe system,
 wherein the inventory data indicates a quantity of inventory of an asset;
 compare the inventory data to one or more predetermined thresholds for the asset;
 adjust a cost of the asset in response to comparing the inventory data to the one or more predetermined thresholds; and
 publish one or more messages indicating an adjusted cost of the asset to a second channel of the plurality of channels of the publish-subscribe system.

         12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein to adjust the cost of the asset the computer processing device is further to:
 decrease the cost of the asset; or increase the cost of the asset.

         13 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the cost of the asset is adjusted to incentivize consumption of the asset or to disincentivize consumption of the asset.

         14 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a supply threshold that indicates whether additional quantities of the asset should be obtained.

         15 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the computer processing device is further to:
 publish a message via a third channel of the plurality of channels indicating that additional quantities of the asset should be obtained.

         16 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise an expiration threshold that indicates a time when the asset should no longer be consumed.

         17 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a rate threshold that indicates a rate at which the asset has been consumed.

         18 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the one or more predetermined thresholds comprise a consumption threshold that indicates a number of the asset that has been consumed.

         19 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein one or more client devices are subscribed to the second channel to receive the one or more messages.

         20 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by a computer processing device, cause the computer processing device to:
 receive inventory data via a first channel of a plurality of channels of a publish-subscribe system,
 wherein the inventory data indicates a quantity of inventory of an asset;
   compare the inventory data to one or more predetermined thresholds for the asset; adjust a cost of the asset in response to comparing the inventory data to the one or more predetermined thresholds; and publish one or more messages indicating an adjusted cost of the asset to a second channel of the plurality of channels of the publish-subscribe system.
