Claims

Abstract

An approach is provided for the presentation of guidance information for capturing media content by a mobile device. Location information of the mobile device is acquired. A presentation is initiated of guidance information for capturing media content by the mobile device as part of a sequence of media contents. The guidance information is based on the location information and specifies distance and directional angle for the capture of the media content according to the sequence of media contents. Whether there is a deviation from guidance information is determined. A signal is generated to provide feedback relating to the determined deviation.

         3 . A method of guiding capture of a media sequence, comprising:
 receiving a first media content item captured with user equipment at a first location and orientation;   receiving first location and orientation information sensed by the user equipment and corresponding to the first media content item;   providing media sequence guidance to the user equipment for capture of a second media content item, the guidance comprising location and orientation information based on the first location and orientation information;   receiving a second media content item captured with user equipment at a second location and orientation; and   receiving second location and orientation information sensed by the user equipment and corresponding to the second media content item.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the step of providing media sequence guidance to the user equipment is performed at the user equipment. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the step of providing media sequence guidance to the user equipment comprises:
 determining a distance range and angle range for the capture of the second media content item relative to the first location and orientation information, according to a desired path;   receiving a current location and current orientation as sensed by the user equipment;   comparing the current location and current orientation to the distance range and angle range; and   providing feedback to a user interface of the user equipment indicating adjustment of at least one of position and orientation of the user equipment responsive to the current location and current orientation of the user equipment not being within the distance and angle range.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the step of providing media sequence guidance to the user equipment is performed at a media application platform. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the steps of receiving the first and second media content items and receiving the first and second location and orientation information are performed at the media application platform;
 and further comprising:
 at the media application platform, processing the first and second media content items in combination with the first and second location and orientation information into a media presentation. 
   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the first and second media content items each comprise an image acquired by a camera in the user equipment. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the first and second media content items each comprise video acquired by a camera in the user equipment. 
     
     
         10 . An application platform apparatus, comprising:
 a processor;   a communication interface for coupling to a communications network;   at least one memory for storing executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the application platform apparatus to provide guidance for capturing seamless media by a plurality of operations comprising:
 receiving, via the communication interface, a first media content item captured with user equipment at a first location and orientation; 
 receiving, via the communication interface, first location and orientation information sensed by the user equipment and corresponding to the first media content item; 
 providing media sequence guidance for user equipment for capture of a second media content item, the guidance comprising location and orientation information based on the first location and orientation information; 
 receiving, via the communication interface, a second media content item captured with user equipment at a second location and orientation; and 
 receiving, via the communication interface, second location and orientation information sensed by the user equipment and corresponding to the second media content item; and 
 processing the first and second media content items in combination with the first and second location and orientation information into a media presentation. 
   
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein the first and second media content items each comprise an image acquired by a camera in the user equipment. 
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein the first and second media content items each comprise video acquired by a camera in the user equipment.
