Product Engagement Packaging System and Display
Abstract
A packaging system having a storage configuration and a display configuration is described herein. The package is made from a package blank having panels adhesively engaged together to form the package. The assembled package having an interior defined by a plurality of walls within which a plurality of product containers may be stored and eventually displayed. The bottom and/or two opposing walls of the package have a pattern of discrete material depositions adhesively deposited thereon. The depositions each have a height as measured from the wall that they are mounted upon. The presence and height of the opposing depositions providing a mechanical engagement surface against which an adjacent product container is biased or held against, to prevent the product container from falling forward or out of the package when the package is in the display configuration, even as individual product containers are removed from the package by customers.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A convertible package defining an interior for containing a plurality of product containers, the package comprising:
a bottom wall, a first side wall engaged to and extending from the bottom wall, a second side wall opposite the first side wall and engaged to and extending from the bottom wall, a front wall engaged to and extending from the bottom wall and a rear wall engaged to and extending from the bottom wall, the first side wall extending between the front wall and the rear wall along a first side of the bottom wall, the second side wall extending between the front wall and the rear wall along a second side of the bottom wall; a plurality of tear-drop shaped material depositions, the plurality of material depositions adhesively engaged to the first side wall and second side wall, each of the plurality of material depositions having a height as measured from the side wall that the material depositions is positioned on and extending into the interior, and an orientation such that a narrow part of the tear-drop shape is oriented toward the front wall, the plurality of material depositions on the first side wall defining a first pattern, the plurality of material depositions on the second side wall defining a second pattern, wherein the second pattern is a mirror image of the first pattern.
2 . The package of claim 1 wherein the first side wall, second side wall, and rear wall define a perforated tear line; the perforated tear line demarking a top portion of the package above the tear line and a bottom portion below the tear line, the top portion being removable from the bottom portion along the tear line.
3 . The package of claim 2 wherein the bottom wall, first side wall, second side wall, front wall and rear wall are defined by a plurality of panels, at least some of the plurality of panels having droplets of adhesive therebetween.
4 . The package of claim 3 wherein the droplets of adhesive and the plurality of material depositions are composed of the same material.
