Abstract
A surface cleaning apparatus comprising a hand vacuum cleaner removably connectable to a rigid wand wherein the rigid wand is mounted a surface cleaning head. An accessory tool mount is removably mountable on the rigid wand and at least one accessory tool is removably mounted to the accessory tool mount.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A surface cleaning apparatus having an upper end and a lower end, the surface cleaning apparatus comprising
(a) a hand vacuum cleaner having a handle and a hand vacuum cleaner air flow path extending from a hand vacuum cleaner air inlet to a hand vacuum cleaner clean air outlet, wherein an air treatment member and a suction motor are provided in the hand vacuum cleaner air flow path, the handle having a handgrip portion extending upwardly when the surface cleaning apparatus is disposed on a horizontal surface with the upper end above a lower end; (b) a surface cleaning head having a dirty air inlet and a surface cleaning head air outlet; (c) an rigid wand having an downstream end mounted to the surface cleaning head air outlet and an upstream end removably connectable to the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet whereby, when the hand vacuum cleaner is mounted to the rigid wand and the rigid wand is mounted to the surface cleaning head, the handle is drivingly connected to the surface cleaning head; and, (d) an accessory tool mount removably mountable on the rigid wand wherein at least one accessory tool is removably mounted to the accessory tool mount.
2 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the hand vacuum cleaner has an electrical connector and the upstream end of the rigid wand is concurrently connectable in air flow communication with the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet and electrically connected to the electrical connector of the hand vacuum cleaner.
3 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the rigid wand is removably connectable to the surface cleaning head.
4 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the surface cleaning head is electrically connected to the hand vacuum cleaner by the rigid wand.
5 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the air treatment member comprises a cyclone having an axis of rotation and the axis of rotation is parallel to the rigid wand.
6 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet has an inlet passage, and the air inlet passage has an inlet passage axis intersects the handle.
7 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the handle is provided at a rear end of the hand vacuum cleaner.
8 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the accessory tool mounting has a first mounting portion that extends upwardly when the rigid wand is in an upright storage position and a second mounting portion that extends downwardly when the rigid wand is in an upright storage position.
9 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein, when the hand vacuum cleaner is mounted to the rigid wand and the rigid wand is mounted to the surface cleaning head, the handle is steeringly connected to the surface cleaning head.
10 . A surface cleaning apparatus having an upper end and a lower end, the surface cleaning apparatus comprising
(a) a hand vacuum cleaner having a handle and a hand vacuum cleaner air flow path extending from a hand vacuum cleaner air inlet to a hand vacuum cleaner clean air outlet, wherein an air treatment member and a suction motor are provided in the hand vacuum cleaner air flow path, the handle having a handgrip portion extending upwardly when the surface cleaning apparatus is disposed on a horizontal surface with the upper end above a lower end; (b) a surface cleaning head having a dirty air inlet and a surface cleaning head air outlet; (c) an rigid wand extending from the surface cleaning head air outlet to the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet whereby, when the hand vacuum cleaner is mounted to the rigid wand and the rigid wand is mounted to the surface cleaning head, the handle is drivingly connected to the surface cleaning head; and, (d) an accessory tool removably mounted to the rigid wand.
11 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the accessory tool is removably mounted to an accessory tool mount that is provided on the rigid wand.
12 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 11 wherein the accessory tool mounting has a first mounting portion that extends upwardly when the rigid wand is in an upright storage position and a second mounting portion that extends downwardly when the rigid wand is in an upright storage position
13 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the hand vacuum cleaner has an electrical connector and the upstream end of the rigid wand is concurrently connectable in air flow communication with the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet and electrically connected to the electrical connector of the hand vacuum cleaner.
14 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the rigid wand is removably connectable to the surface cleaning head.
15 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the surface cleaning head is electrically connected to the hand vacuum cleaner by the rigid wand.
16 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the air treatment member comprises a cyclone having an axis of rotation and the axis of rotation is parallel to the rigid wand.
17 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet has an inlet passage, and the air inlet passage has an inlet passage axis intersects the handle.
18 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein the handle is provided at a rear end of the hand vacuum cleaner.
19 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 10 wherein, when the hand vacuum cleaner is mounted to the rigid wand and the rigid wand is mounted to the surface cleaning head, the handle is steeringly connected to the surface cleaning head.Cited by (0)
