Abstract

Various implant analogs, model, and base designs are disclosed herein. In one example, an implant analog can include a main body and a second component. The main body can have an axis of symmetry and a passage therein. The second component can be received in the passage so as to extend substantially transverse to the axis of symmetry.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 13 . (canceled)

         14 . A system for simulating a mouth of a patient, comprising:
a base having a plurality of rows each of the plurality of rows comprising a plurality of holes each having an opening to a major surface of the base; and a plurality of positioning elements each configured with an apical portion to be received in one of the plurality of holes, wherein a coronal portion of each of the plurality of positioning elements is configured to project from the major surface of the base when the apical portion is received in the one of the plurality of holes.

15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of rows are each arranged as an arch to simulate a dental arch of the patient.

16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of rows comprise arches of different sizes each configured to simulate a dental arch of a different size.

17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of positioning elements has a shoulder positioned between the coronal portion and the apical portion, wherein the shoulder is configured to contact the major surface.

18 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the apical portion has an aperture therein.

19 . The system of claim 14 , further comprising a model configured to couple with the base via one or more of the plurality of positioning elements, the model having at least one primary passage and at least one transverse passage extending substantially transverse to the primary passage, wherein the at least one primary passage and the at least one transverse passage are configured to receive different portions of an implant analog.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the implant analog comprises a main body component and a separate transverse component that extends through the main body component.

21 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the model is configured to represent an accurate model of the patient's jaw.

22 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the model includes a working surface that is configured to receive one or more components that simulate abutments or other dental implant components.

23 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the at least one primary passage comprises a plurality of passages, one or more of the plurality of passages are angled relative others of the plurality of passages.

24 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the at least one transverse passage can include one or more fixation and retention features that allow for affixation and retention of the transverse component.

25 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the at least one transverse passage comprises a plurality of passages, one or more of the plurality of passages are angled relative to others of the plurality of passages.

26 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the major surface is angled from posterior to anterior such that the base is one of thicker at an anterior end thereof than a posterior end thereof or thicker at the posterior end thereof than the anterior end thereof.

         27 . A system for simulating a mouth of a patient, comprising:
a base having a plurality of rows each of the plurality of rows comprising a plurality of holes each having an opening to a major surface of the base; a plurality of positioning elements each configured with an apical portion to be received in one of the plurality of holes, wherein a coronal portion of each of the plurality of positioning elements is configured to project from the major surface of the base when the apical portion is received in the one of the plurality of holes; and a model configured to couple with the base via one or more of the plurality of positioning elements.

28 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the plurality of rows comprise arches of different sizes each configured to simulate a dental arch of a different size.

29 . The system of claim 28 , wherein each of the plurality of positioning elements has a shoulder positioned between the coronal portion and the apical portion, wherein the shoulder is configured to contact the major surface.

30 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the model has at least one primary passage and at least one transverse passage extending substantially transverse to the primary passage, wherein the at least one primary passage and the at least one transverse passage are configured to receive different portions of an implant analog.

31 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the model includes a working surface that is configured to receive one or more components that simulate abutments or other dental implant components.

32 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the at least one primary passage comprises a plurality of passages, one or more of the plurality of passages are angled relative to others of the plurality of passages.

33 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the at least one transverse passage can include one or more fixation and retention features that allow for affixation and retention of the transverse component.

34 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the at least one transverse passage comprises a plurality of passages, one or more of the plurality of passages are angled relative to others of the plurality of passages.
