Abstract

According to the various features characteristics and embodiments of the present invention which will become apparent as the description thereof proceeds, the present invention provides partially fingered gloves and the use of said gloves, intended to increase the overall performance in sports activities including but limited to football and golf. Because of its unique finger configurations, grip enhancers, and/or its hand protective properties, the present invention makes a glove now operable on a football quarterback's throwing hand and on golfers dominant hand, for example.

said glove including a glove body having a back portion covering the back of the hand, and a front portion covering substantially all of the palm of the hand; said glove body including one finger stall and a thumb stall each adapted to receive a finger or thumb, respectively, therein; wherein said glove body further comprises of three separate openings or ringlets on said distal ends; wherein said ringlets are designed such that a user's ring finger, pinkie finger and middle finger individually extend through said glove; wherein said glove body is configured such that the glove thumb and forefinger digital segments fully enclose the user's thumb and forefinger, including enclosing the fingertips; wherein said glove body is thereby designed to leave completely uncovered the ring finger of the user's hand; wherein said glove body is thereby designed to leave completely uncovered the pinkie finger of the user's hand; wherein said glove body is thereby designed to leave completely uncovered the middle finger of the user's hand; and wherein said glove further comprises of at least one shock absorbing member on the dorsal portion of said glove, thereby providing the user with added protection from the abrasion along the back of the user's hand.

2 . The glove as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said palmar portion further comprises a grip enhancing means; wherein said grip enhancing means overlays at least a portion or portions of any thumb and finger stalls, along any portion of any metacarpophalangeal joints, between the thumb and forefinger area, generally defined by the metacarpal of the forefinger and extending up along the metacarpal of the thumb, and therebetween, or combinations thereof.

3 . The glove as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said shock-absorbing member comprises a cloth, a foam, or a cotton; wherein said shock-absorbing member is at least ¼ inch in thickness.

9 . The glove as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said glove palmar portion further comprises of a grip enhancing means thereby provides a higher coefficient of friction on said glove portions than on the rest of the glove body; and wherein said grip enhancing means provides a Shore A Durometer Coefficient of Friction of at least 3.0, thereby providing added gripping capabilities along areas where a football generally touches a quarterback's hand by providing a higher coefficient of friction on said glove portions.

10 . The glove as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one shock absorbing member comprises of a plurality of discreet shock absorbing protective protrusions.
