. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon computer-readable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computer system, cause the computer system to perform operations for displaying an axis of user-selectable elements on a display, the operations comprising:
providing a displayed portion of the axis of user-selectable elements displaying user-selectable elements in a substantially rectilinear direction on a viewing area of the display, and providing a non-displayed portion of the axis of user-selectable elements virtually extending outside the viewing area of the display and accessible through scrolling thereof, the user-selectable elements being disposed along the axis of user-selectable elements in accordance with a time-based order including a timeline, the user-selectable elements being located along the axis of user-selectable elements in respect with a time-scale; selecting a years attribute to select a set of years user-selectable elements associated with the selected years attribute, the selection of the years attribute also enabling a years timescale to the axis of documents; displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of years documents including the set of years documents disposed along the axis of years documents in accordance with the years timescale in respective year time units, wherein each year time unit is representing a year duration of time along the axis, selecting a document from the axis of years documents to select a time related attribute associated with the selected document; providing a subset of documents associated with the selected time related attribute; displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of the subset of documents in accordance with a time-based order including a timeline in accordance with the selected time related attribute in a plurality of time units, the timeline including a non-linear timescale and a time distribution that is substantially variable, with equal lengths of time not being visually represented with equal lengths of distance along the axis of the subset of documents.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the time-related attribute is a months attribute to select a set of months documents associated with the selected months attribute, the selection of the months attribute also enabling a months timescale to the axis of documents, the method further comprising displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of months documents including the set of months documents disposed along the axis of months documents in accordance with the months timescale in respective month time units, wherein each month time unit is representing a month duration of time along the axis.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the computer system is a mobile device.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the axis is a vertical axis.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the years axis is a double axis of documents.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein at least some of the documents are pictures.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the documents are user selectable.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein each year time unit includes one document per year.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the axis is scrollable using a gesture.

. The transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein a document displayed on the axis is representing a subset of documents, a selection of the document is displaying a set of documents associated thereto.

. A method for displaying an axis of user-selectable elements on a display, the method comprising:
providing a displayed portion of the axis of user-selectable elements displaying user-selectable elements in a substantially rectilinear direction on a viewing area of the display, and providing a non-displayed portion of the axis of user-selectable elements virtually extending outside the viewing area of the display and accessible through scrolling thereof, the user-selectable elements being disposed along the axis of user-selectable elements in accordance with a time-based order including a timeline, the user-selectable elements being located along the axis of user-selectable elements in respect with a time-scale; selecting a years attribute to select a set of years user-selectable elements associated with the selected years attribute, the selection of the years attribute also enabling a years timescale to the axis of documents; displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of years documents including the set of years documents disposed along the axis of years documents in accordance with the years timescale in respective year time units, wherein each year time unit is representing a year duration of time along the axis, selecting a document from the axis of years documents to select a time related attribute associated with the selected document; providing a subset of documents associated with the selected time related attribute; displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of the subset of documents in accordance with a time-based order including a timeline in accordance with the selected time related attribute in a plurality of time units, the timeline including a non-linear timescale and a time distribution that is substantially variable, with equal lengths of time not being visually represented with equal lengths of distance along the axis of the subset of documents.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the time-related attribute is a months attribute to select a set of months documents associated with the selected months attribute, the selection of the months attribute also enabling a months timescale to the axis of documents, the method further comprising displaying, on the viewing area, an axis of months documents including the set of months documents disposed along the axis of months documents in accordance with the months timescale in respective month time units, wherein each month time unit is representing a month duration of time along the axis.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the computer system is a mobile device.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the axis is a vertical axis.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the years axis is a double axis of documents.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the documents are user selectable.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein each year time unit includes one document per year.

. The method of claim 31 , wherein the axis is scrollable using a gesture.
