Infusion device with releasable fluid connector
Abstract
An infusion set system includes a base and a fluid connector removably coupleable thereto. The fluid connector includes a fluid path portion and at least one connector latch displaceably connected to the fluid path portion and displaceable to a latching position in which at least a portion of the connector latch extends into the fluid path portion, which includes a cannula extending from a top interior surface thereof, and a plurality of internal sidewalls corresponding to at least two of a plurality of flat side surfaces of at least one of a base section and a base latch, thereby facilitating connection between the base and the fluid connector in a plurality of discrete rotational connecting positions. When the fluid connector is locked to the base, the at least one connector latch engages a base latching portion of the base and restricts proximal displacement of the fluid connector.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A base element of a medicament delivery device, comprising:
a base portion formed of a first rigid material and having at least one cutout or hole; and a disc formed of a second material, the disc being disposed around the base and filling the at least one cutout or hole, thereby facilitating bonding between the base and the disc.
2 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein the second material is more flexible than the first material and to provide comfort and mobility to a user wearing the base portion.
3 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein the disc portion is perforated to increase moisture and air permeability and increase patient comfort.
4 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein the disc portion is distally disposed on the base portion to minimize the contact of the rigid base portion with a user wearing the base element.
5 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second material are the same.
6 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one cutout comprises a plurality of cutouts radially arranged about the base.
7 . The base element according to claim 1 , wherein base portion comprises a horizontal distal portion with an outer portion that has a reduced thickness in comparison to the rest of the horizontal distal portion.
8 . The base element according to claim 7 , wherein:
the at least one cutout or hole comprises a plurality of holes; and the plurality of holes are disposed through the outer portion of horizontal distal portion.
9 . The base element according to claim 8 , wherein:
a shape of the outer portion provides a double overlapping joint with the material of the disc portion; and the plurality of holes provide bonding surface area in addition to an exterior of the outer portion, as well as an additional mechanical interlock between the disc portion and the base portion.Cited by (0)
