Abstract

Systems and methods for processing, transmitting and displaying data received from an analyte sensor, such as a glucose sensor, are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for transmitting data between a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor and a second communication device configured to provide user access to sensor-related information comprises: activating a transceiver of a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor at a first time; and establishing a two-way communication channel with the second communication device; wherein the activating comprises waking the transceiver from a low power sleep mode using a forced wakeup from the second communication device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A transcutaneous glucose sensor system comprising:
a transcutaneous glucose sensor comprising an implantable portion, wherein the transcutaneous glucose sensor is an electrochemical sensor, wherein the transcutaneous glucose sensor comprises a membrane and at least one electrode, wherein the at least one electrode comprises a working electrode; a sensor electronics module operatively connected to the transcutaneous glucose sensor, wherein the sensor electronics module comprises circuitry associated with measuring and processing sensor data received from the transcutaneous glucose sensor, wherein the circuitry comprises a battery; and a display device operatively connected to the sensor electronics module, wherein the display device is configured to display a glucose value; wherein the sensor electronics module is configured to monitor sleep current when the sensor electronics module is in a sleep mode; and wherein the sensor electronics module is further configured to determine whether an error has occurred with respect to a normal drain of the battery in the sleep mode based at least in part on the monitoring.

22 . The sensor system of claim 21 , wherein the sensor electronics module is configured to store information related to a detected error in a memory of the sensor electronics module.

23 . The sensor system of claim 22 , wherein the sensor electronics module is configured to send an error message to the display device in response to a detected error.
