Abstract

A mobile communication device is equipped with hardware and/or software components to enable the device to output a data in a form of a radio frequency signal, emulating outputting of the data by either an active or a passive RFID transponder. The data may be a security key or an identifier. Emulation of an active RFID transponder includes facilitating selection of the data and instruction to output by a user. Emulation of a passive RFID transponder includes detecting for proximal presence of a RFID reader. Either case, provision of the data to the mobile communication device may include provision of associated signal attribute(s).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A mobile communication device comprising:
 a user interface; communication circuitry; processing circuitry; and a memory storing instructions, which, when executed by the processing circuitry cause the mobile communication device to:
 facilitate a user to provide first radio frequency identification (RFID) data associated with a first set of RFID communications protocols and provide second RFID data associated with a second set of RFID communications protocols via the user interface; and
 monitor for RFID probing signals from an RFID reader external to the mobile communication device via the communication circuitry;
 receive a first radio frequency identification (RFID) probing signal from an RFID reader external to the mobile communication device, amplify the first RFID probing signal via an amplifier to generate a first amplified RFID probing signal, and process the first amplified RFID probing signal via signal processing circuitry to generate a first processed RFID probing signal;
 receive a second radio frequency identification (RFID) probing signal from an RFID reader external to the mobile communication device, amplify the second RFID probing signal via an amplifier to generate a second amplified RFID probing signal, and process the second amplified RFID probing signal via signal processing circuitry to generate a second processed RFID probing signal;
 if an RFID communications protocol of the first processed RFID probing signal matches at least one of the first set of RFID communications protocols, transmit the first RFID data in one of the first set of RFID communications protocols via the communication circuitry; and
 if an RFID communications protocol of the second processed RFID probing signal matches a least one of the second set of RFID communications protocols, transmit the second RFID data in one of the second set of RFID communications protocols via the communication circuitry, wherein the first set of RFID communications protocols is different from the second set of RFID communications protocols.
