System for capturing and replaying screen gestures
Abstract
A capture system may capture client events for an application session. Some client events may contain display information associated with screen gestures. The screen gestures may be associated with any user input that changes how images are displayed during the application session. For example, the screen gestures may comprise one or more of a scroll gesture, a touch start gesture, a touch move gesture, a touch end gesture, and/or a pinch gesture. In another example the screen gesture may comprise a reorientation of a device operating in the application session. A replay system may replay the application session based on the captured client events to recreate images displayed during the application session in response to the screen gestures.

21 . A replay system for replaying user web sessions, comprising:
a database configured for receiving and storing web session information for use in replaying a previous web session,
wherein the web session information comprises information regarding webpages displayed during the web session and client events occurring during the web session,
wherein the client events comprise gesture events associated with gestures applied by a first user to a computing device of the first user during the web session, and
wherein the gesture events comprise touch start events, touch move events, touch end events, scroll events and pinch events; and
a replay engine configured for, utilizing the web session information, enabling replay of the web session on a computing device of a second user; wherein the replay system comprises a capture library configured for use in, using the web session information, identifying a particular client event as a particular gesture event associated with a particular gesture occurring during the web session; and wherein replaying the web session comprises displaying animated displays to represent particular gestures associated with replayed gesture events occurring during the web session.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the capture library is configured to operate with a mobile operating system in use on the computing device of the first user during the web session.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein replaying the web session comprises recreating images displayed during the web session in response to gestures.
24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein gesture events comprise zoom-in events and zoom-out events.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein gesture events comprise touch pattern events.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein gesture events comprise Z-pattern touch pattern events.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein identifying a particular client event as a particular gesture event associated with a particular gesture comprises associating a particular control event, which occurred during the web session, with a particular gesture which occurred during the Web session.
28 . The system of claim 21 , wherein identifying a particular client event as a particular gesture event associated with a particular gesture comprises associating a particular control event, which occurred during the web session, with a particular gesture which occurred during the Web session, and comprises utilizing sequential time stamp values associated with particular client events.
29 . The system of claim 21 , wherein replaying the web session comprises generating a display of an outline corresponding to an outer dimension of the computing device of the first user as used during the web session.
30 . The system of claim 21 , wherein replaying the web session comprises generating a display of:
an outline corresponding to an outer dimension of the computing device of the first user as used during the web session; and a representation of the physical dimensions of the computing device of the first user as used during the web session.
31 . The system of claim 21 , wherein replaying the web session comprises generating a display of:
an outline corresponding to an outer dimension of the computing device of the first user as used during the web session; a representation of the physical dimensions of the computing device of the first user as used during the web session; and a simulation of the physical display environment viewed by the first user on the computing device of the first user during the web session.
32 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the reply system comprises a replay interface configured for enabling user interaction to replay web sessions.
33 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the replay system comprises a replay interface configured for enabling user interaction to replay web sessions, wherein, in replay of web sessions, the replay interface operates a browser.
34 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the replay system utilizes Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) in replay of web sessions.
35 . A method for replaying user web sessions, comprising:
a database receiving and storing web session information for use in replaying a previous web session,
wherein the web session information comprises information regarding webpages displayed during the web session and client events occurring during the web session,
wherein the client events comprise gesture events associated with gestures applied by a first user to a computing device of the first user during the web session, and
wherein the gesture events comprise touch start events, touch move events, touch end events, scroll events and pinch events;
a replay engine, utilizing the web session information, causing replay of the web session on a computing device of a second user; and a capture library, using the web session information, identifying a particular client event as a particular gesture event associated with a particular gesture occurring during the web session; wherein replay of the web session comprises displaying animated displays to represent particular gestures associated with replayed gesture events occurring during the web session.
36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the capture library is configured to operate with a mobile operating system in use on the computing device of the first user during the web session.
37 . The method of claim 35 , wherein gesture events comprise touch pattern events.
38 . A non-transitory computer readable medium or media containing instructions for executing a method for replaying user web sessions, comprising:
a database receiving and storing web session information for use in replaying a previous web session,
wherein the web session information comprises information regarding webpages displayed during the web session and client events occurring during the web session,
wherein the client events comprise gesture events associated with gestures applied by a first user to a computing device of the first user during the web session, and
wherein the gesture events comprise touch start events, touch move events, touch end events, scroll events, pinch events and touch pattern events; and
a replay engine, utilizing the web session information, causing replay of the web session on a computing device of a second user; and a capture library, using the web session information, identifying a particular client event as a particular gesture event associated with a particular gesture occurring during the web session,
wherein the capture library is configured to operate with a mobile operating system in use on the computing device of the first user during the web session;
wherein replay of the web session comprises displaying animated displays to represent particular gestures associated with replayed gesture events occurring during the web session.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
