Abstract

The present disclosure relates to processing data streams from a surgical procedure using multiple interconnected data structures to generate and/or continuously update an electronic output. Each surgical data structure is used to determine a current node associated with a characteristic of a surgical procedure and present relevant metadata associated with the surgical procedure. Each surgical data structure includes at least one node interconnected to one or more nodes of another data structure. The interconnected nodes between one or more data structures includes relational metadata associated with the surgical procedure.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving a surgery-associated data stream, the surgery-associated data stream corresponding to surgery-related data from a surgical procedure; processing the surgery-associated data stream using an artificial-intelligence model configured to detect a particular type of data corresponding to a characteristic of a surgical procedure, the processing generating a result that indicates one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream predicted to correspond to the particular type of data; modifying the surgery-associated data stream by obscuring or removing each of the one or more particular portions; and outputting the modified surgery-associated data stream.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein obscuring each of the one or more particular portions comprises at least one of:
colorizing the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream; blurring the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream; and pixelating the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the particular type of data comprises at least one of:
identifiable information; and electronic data indicative of a characteristic of the surgical procedure.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the identifiable information comprises at least one of hospital information, personal information, visual information, audio information, or textual information.

5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the characteristic of the surgical procedure is indicative of a camera location.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the processing of the surgery-associated data stream using the artificial-intelligence model occurs in real-time, off-line, or a combination thereof.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the surgery-associated data stream comprises one or more image or video frames corresponding to a particular part of the surgical procedure; and
wherein a portion of the one or more image or video frames that include the particular type of data is obscured.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein an entire image or video frame of the one or more image or video frames that include the particular type of data is obscured.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the particular type of data is associated with a location of a camera, wherein the entire image frame of the one or more image or video frames is obscured when the camera is outside an internal anatomy.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the camera is at least one of a laparoscopic camera, an endoscopic camera, or a robotic camera.

11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
updating a file to include a file update corresponding to an output of the modified surgery-associated data stream, wherein the file update includes at least part of the modified surgery-associated data stream; and storing the file update

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
discarding, based on the processing, the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream; and storing the file update.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the surgery-associated data stream comprises:
multiple different video streams; and/or multiple different audio streams.

14 . A computer-program product tangibly embodied in a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, including instructions configured to cause one or more data processors to perform actions including:
receiving a surgery-associated data stream, the surgery-associated data stream corresponding to surgery-related data from a surgical procedure; processing the surgery-associated data stream using an artificial-intelligence model configured to detect a particular type of data corresponding to a characteristic of a surgical procedure, the processing generating a result that indicates one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream predicted to correspond to the particular type of data; modifying the surgery-associated data stream by obscuring or removing each of the one or more particular portions; and outputting the modified surgery-associated data stream.

15 . The computer-program product of claim 14 , wherein obscuring each of the one or more particular portions comprises at least one of:
colorizing the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream; blurring the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream; and pixelating the one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream.

16 . The computer-program product of claim 14 , wherein the particular type of data comprises at least one of:
identifiable information; and electronic data indicative of a characteristic of the surgical procedure.

17 . The computer-program product of claim 14 , wherein the processing of the surgery-associated data stream using the artificial-intelligence model occurs in real-time, off-line, or a combination thereof.

         18 . A system comprising:
one or more data processors; and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium containing instructions which when executed on the one or more data processors, cause the one or more data processors to perform actions including: receiving a surgery-associated data stream, the surgery-associated data stream corresponding to surgery-related data from a surgical procedure; processing the surgery-associated data stream using an artificial-intelligence model configured to detect a particular type of data corresponding to a characteristic of a surgical procedure, the processing generating a result that indicates one or more particular portions of the surgery-associated data stream predicted to correspond to the particular type of data; modifying the surgery-associated data stream by obscuring or removing each of the one or more particular portions; and outputting the modified surgery-associated data stream.
