System and method for establishing and providing access to various types of online accounts

Abstract

A method of providing an account is provided. The method includes receiving identification information associated with a user during a communication session. The method further includes communicating a request for credit information. The request includes at least a portion of the identification information. The method further includes receiving the requested credit information, and for each of a plurality of different types of accounts, determining whether to approve that type of account based at least in part on the received credit information. The method further includes communicating an indication of at least a portion of the approved types of accounts, and receiving a selection of at least one of the approved types of accounts. The method further includes opening at least one of the selected types of accounts and providing access to at least one of the opened accounts during the communication session.

         2 . A method comprising:
 transmitting, by at least one processor, to a workstation, one or more web pages;   receiving, by the at least one processor, a request to open an account on an online platform for placing online bets;   in response to receiving the request to open the account, transmitting, by the at least one processor, a request to the workstation to provide via one or more web pages identification verification information;   transmitting, by the at least one processor, to the workstation, terms and conditions of the platform;   receiving, by the at least one processor, an indication that the workstation activated a web link on a web page, wherein activation of the web link causes a submission of identification information provided by the workstation and signifies acceptance of the terms and conditions;   generating, by the at least one processor, an account decision matrix in a memory;   
       generating, by the at least one processor, a credit check rules table in the memory;
 searching, by the at least one processor, the account decision matrix and the credit check rules table for information that corresponds to an individual; 
 approving, by the at least one processor, the request to open an account on the platform based at least partially on the search of the account decision matrix and the credit check rules table stored in the memory; 
 responsive to approving the request to open the account on the platform, establishing by the at least one processor the account for the workstation including establishing a user ID and a password; and 
 in response to receiving the user ID and the password from the workstation, establishing, by the at least one processor, a communication session during which the workstation has access to the online platform to place bets. 
 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 communicating, by the at least one processor, at least a portion of the identification information to an entity to perform an identity authentication check on the workstation; and   receiving, by the at least one processor, from the entity a result of the identity authentication check on the workstation; and   searching, by the at least one processor, the credit check rules table based at least in part on the result of the identity authentication check.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein receiving the result of the identity authentication check on the workstation comprises receiving, by the at least one processor, one of a plurality of identity check scores that each represents a level of assurance that the workstation identified by the identification information is the workstation. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 determining, by the at least one processor, a current balance for the account;   determining, by the at least one processor, whether to approve the bet from the workstation based at least in part on a bet amount for the bet from the workstation and the current balance for the account; and when the bet is approved, accepting the bet.   
     
     
         6 . An apparatus comprising:
 at least one processor; and   a memory, in which the memory stores instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, direct the at least one processor to:   transmit to a workstation one or more web pages;   receive a request to open an account on an online platform for placing online bets from the workstation via the one or more web pages;   responsive to receiving the request, transmit a request to the workstation to provide, via the one or more web pages, identification verification information;   
       transmit, to the workstation, terms and conditions of the platform;
 receiving by a least one processor an indication that the workstation activated a web link on a web page, wherein activation of the web link causes a submission of identification information provided by the workstation and signifies acceptance of the terms and conditions; 
 generate an account decision matrix in a memory; 
 generate a credit check rules table in the memory; 
 search the account decision matrix and the credit check rules table for information that corresponds to an individual; 
 approve the request to open the account on the platform based at least partially on the search of the account decision matrix and the credit check rules table stored in the memory; 
 responsive to approving the request to open the account on the platform, establish a user ID and a password; and 
 in response to receiving the user ID and the password, establish a communication session during which the workstation has access to the online platform to place bets. 
 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further direct the at least one processor to communicate to the workstation via email the password. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further direct the at least one processor to:
 communicate at least a portion of the identification information to an entity to perform an identity authentication check on the workstation; and   receive from the entity a result of the identity authentication check on the workstation; and   wherein to approve the request to open an account on the platform comprises to approve the request based at least in part on the received result of the identity authentication check.   
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein to receive the result of the identity authentication check on the workstation comprises to receive one of a plurality of identity check scores that each represents a level of assurance that the workstation identified by the identification information is the workstation. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further direct the at least one processor to:
 determine a current balance for the account;   determine whether to approve the bet from the workstation based at least in part on a bet amount for the bet from the workstation and the current balance for the account; and   when the bet is approved, accept the bet.
