Abstract

The present specification discloses pharmaceutical compositions, methods of preparing such pharmaceutical compositions, and methods and uses of treating a chronic inflammation and/or an inflammatory disease in an individual using such pharmaceutical compositions.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A composition comprising a lipid-adjuvant attached to a plant alkaloid cancer drug, wherein the lipid-adjuvant is a fatty acid comprising 12 and 24 carbon atoms and a functional group.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the attachment is by an ester linkage.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the functional group comprises an oxygen.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the lipid-adjuvant is attached to a carboxylic acid or hydroxyl functional group present of the plant alkaloid cancer drug.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the fatty acid is a saturated fatty acid or an unsaturated fatty acid.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the fatty acid is an omega fatty acid.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the fatty acid has between 12 and 24 carbon atoms.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the fatty acid is a palmitic acid, a palmitoleic acid, a sapienic acid, a margaric acid, a stearic acid, an oleic acid, an elaidic acid, a vaccenic acid, a linoleic acid, a linoelaidic acid, an α-linolenic acid, a γ-linolenic acid, a stearidonic acid, a nonadecylic acid, an arachidic acid, an eicosenoic acid, a dihomo-γ-linolenic acid, a mead acid, an arachidonic acid, or an eicosapentaenoic acid.

. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the plant alkaloid cancer drug includes a vinca alkaloid, a podophyllotoxin, or a taxane.

. The composition according to claim 9 , wherein the vinca alkaloid includes Vincristine, Vinblastine, Vinorelbine, or Vindesine.

. The composition according to claim 9 , wherein the podophyllotoxin includes Etoposide or Teniposide.

. The composition according to claim 9 , wherein the taxane includes Docetaxel or Ortataxel.

. A composition comprising a lipid-adjuvant attached to a taxane by an ester linkage, wherein the lipid-adjuvant is a fatty acid comprising 12 and 24 carbon atoms and a functional group.

. The composition according to claim 13 , wherein the functional group comprises an oxygen.

. The composition according to claim 13 , wherein the lipid-adjuvant is attached to a carboxylic acid or hydroxyl functional group present of the plant alkaloid cancer drug.

. The composition according to claim 13 , wherein the fatty acid is a saturated fatty acid or an unsaturated fatty acid.

. The composition according to claim 16 , wherein the unsaturated fatty acid is a cis isomer or a trans isomer.

. The composition according to claim 13 , wherein the fatty acid is an omega fatty acid.

. The composition according to claim 13 , wherein the fatty acid is a palmitic acid, a palmitoleic acid, a sapienic acid, a margaric acid, a stearic acid, an oleic acid, an elaidic acid, a vaccenic acid, a linoleic acid, a linoelaidic acid, an α-linolenic acid, a γ-linolenic acid, a stearidonic acid, a nonadecylic acid, an arachidic acid, an eicosenoic acid, a dihomo-γ-linolenic acid, a mead acid, an arachidonic acid, or an eicosapentaenoic acid.

. The composition according to claim 9 , wherein the taxane includes Docetaxel or Ortataxel.
