Abstract

In general, embodiments of the present invention provide seed, soil, and plant treatment compositions, and methods of making and using such products and compositions. The use of these products and compositions can act as a plant protectant and increase the growth, health, and yield of various seeds and plants such as crops and grasses, and further provide similar benefit to soils.

         20 . A method of making an essential oil composition, comprising:
 agitating one or more emulsifiers,   contacting the one or more emulsifiers with one or more essential oils to create an emulsion, and   agitating the emulsion while monitoring at least an emulsion temperature.   
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the average particle size of the one or more essential oils in the emulsion is less than about 25 microns. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more emulsifiers include at least larch arabinogalactan. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more emulsifiers include at least a tannin compound. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 23 , wherein the tannin compound is tannic acid. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more essential oils are selected from essential oils in the  Cinnamomum  genus,  Thymus  genus,  Origanum  genus,  Monarda  genus, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more essential oils are selected from essential oils in the  Lavandula  genus, the  Liteas  genus, the  Pimenta  genus, the  Syzygium  genus, the  Laurus  genus, the  Umbellularia  genus, the  Cymbopogon  genus, the  Mentha  genus, the  Rosmarinus  genus, the  Salvia  genus, the  Pimpinella  genus, the  Zingiber  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the  Eucalyptus  genus, the  Melaleuca  genus, the  Gaultheria  genus, the  Cannabis  genus, the  Origanum  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the Rosa genus, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more essential oils include at least one of the following essential oils: oregano essential oil, thyme essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more essential oils include at least two of the following essential oils: oregano essential oil, thyme essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more essential oils include synthetic cinnamaldehyde. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein agitating the emulsion continues until the emulsion temperature reaches about 100° F. to about 110° F. 
     
     
         31 . A method of making an essential oil composition, comprising:
 agitating one or more liquid emulsifiers, wherein the one or more liquid emulsifiers include at least one of a tannin compound and larch arabinogalactan;   contacting the one or more liquid emulsifiers with at least two of the following essential oils: oregano essential oil, thyme essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil; and   agitating the emulsion while monitoring at least an emulsion temperature.   
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 31 , wherein the average particle size of the one or more essential oils in the emulsion is less than about 25 microns. 
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 31 , wherein the two or more essential oils are selected from essential oils in the  Cinnamomum  genus,  Thymus  genus,  Origanum  genus,  Monarda  genus, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 31  wherein the two or more essential oils are selected from essential oils in the  Lavandula  genus, the  Liteas  genus, the  Pimenta  genus, the  Syzygium  genus, the  Laurus  genus, the  Umbellularia  genus, the  Cymbopogon  genus, the  Mentha  genus, the  Rosmarinus  genus, the  Salvia  genus, the  Pimpinella  genus, the  Zingiber  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the  Eucalyptus  genus, the  Melaleuca  genus, the  Gaultheria  genus, the  Cannabis  genus, the  Origanum  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the Rosa genus, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 31 , wherein the two or more essential oils include at least one of the following essential oils: oregano essential oil, thyme essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil. 
     
     
         36 . An essential oil composition, comprising:
 at least two of the following essential oils: oregano essential oil, thyme essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil; and   one or more emulsifiers, wherein the one or more emulsifiers include at least one of a tannin compound and larch arabinogalactan.   
     
     
         37 . The essential oil composition of  claim 35 , wherein the at least two essential oils are present as an emulsion and the average particle size of the at least two essential oils in the emulsion is about 25 microns or less. 
     
     
         38 . The essential oil composition of  claim 35 , wherein the essential oil composition further comprises at least one essential oil selected from the  Lavandula  genus, the  Liteas  genus, the  Pimenta  genus, the  Syzygium  genus, the  Laurus  genus, the  Umbellularia  genus, the  Cymbopogon  genus, the  Mentha  genus, the  Rosmarinus  genus, the  Salvia  genus, the  Pimpinella  genus, the  Zingiber  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the  Eucalyptus  genus, the  Melaleuca  genus, the  Gaultheria  genus, the  Cannabis  genus, the  Origanum  genus, the  Citrus  genus, the Rosa genus, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         39 . The essential oil composition of  claim 35 , wherein the essential oil composition further comprises a metal chelated compound; wherein the metal of the metal chelated compound includes at least one of aluminum, iron, cobalt, magnesium, tin, manganese, zinc, copper, scandium, selenium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, and nickel; wherein the chelant of the metal chelated compound includes at least one of lactate, acetate, propionate, butyrate, ethylene diamine, and EDTA.
