Method and Devices for Hysterectomy
Abstract
A device sized and shaped for insertion into a body comprising: at least one mechanical limb comprising: a support segment; a first flexible section extending from the support segment and terminating in a coupling section; and a second flexible section extending from the coupling section and terminating in a tool or an connector for a tool; wherein one or more of the flexible sections is bendable by at least 120°; wherein a long axis length of the first flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the first flexible section perpendicular to a flexible section long axis; wherein a long axis length of the second flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the second flexible section perpendicular to a flexible section long axis.

60 . A device sized and shaped for insertion into a body comprising:
at least one mechanical limb comprising:
a support segment;
a first flexible section extending from the support segment and terminating in a first coupling section;
wherein the first flexible section is bendable by at least 120°; and
wherein a length of the first flexible section measured along a long axis of the first flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the first flexible section perpendicular to the long axis of the first flexible section;
a second flexible section extending from the first coupling segment and terminating in a second coupling segment;
wherein the second flexible section is bendable by at least 120°; and
wherein a length of the second flexible section measured along a long axis of the second flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the second flexible section perpendicular to the long axis of the second flexible section;
wherein at least one of the flexible sections:
includes a plurality of coupled links where pivoting of the flexible section links bends the flexible section in a bending plane thereof; and
is rotatable, about a long axis of the at least one flexible section, independently of the other flexible section; and
a tool extending from the second coupling segment.
61 . The device of claim 60 , wherein one or more of the flexible sections is bendable by at least 180°.
62 . The device of claim 60 , wherein the flexible sections are bendable to a combined total angle of at least 180°.
63 . The device of claim 60 , wherein one or more of the flexible sections bendable only in a single bending plane.
64 . The device of claim 60 , wherein each of the flexible sections is independently bendable only in a single bending plane.
65 . The device of claim 60 , wherein the first flexible section is independently rotatable around the first flexible section long axis; and
wherein the second flexible section is independently rotatable around the second flexible section long axis.
66 . The device of claim 63 , wherein the one or more flexible sections is bendable in only one bending direction, from a straight configuration, around the plane.
67 . The device of claim 64 , wherein the first flexible section is bendable in only one bending direction, from a straight configuration, in the plane;
wherein the second flexible section is bendable independent of bending of the first flexible section in only one bending direction in a bending plane of the second flexible section.
68 . The device of claim 60 , wherein a thickness of the support segment is 5-10 mm.
69 . The device of claim 60 , wherein the maximum extent of the first flexible section is 5-10 mm.
70 . The device of claim 60 , wherein a thickness of the coupling segment is 4-8 mm.
71 . The device of claim 60 , wherein the maximum extent of the second flexible section is 3-4 mm.
72 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein one or more of:
bending of the first flexible section is distributed along the long axis of the first flexible section; and bending of the second flexible section is distributed along the long axis of the second flexible section.
73 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein the tool comprises an electrosurgery tip.
74 . The device according to claim 60 , comprising two limbs according to the mechanical limb, wherein each tool of each the mechanical limb comprises an electrosurgery tip.
75 . The device according to claim 60 , further comprising a second limb comprising a camera.
76 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein one or more of the first coupling segment and the second coupling segment are rigid.
77 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein one or more of the flexible portions is multi-segmented where segments are contiguous.
78 . A device sized and shaped for insertion into a body comprising:
at least one mechanical limb comprising:
a support segment;
a first flexible section extending from the support segment and terminating in a first coupling section;
wherein the first flexible section is bendable by at least 120°; and
wherein a length of the first flexible section measured along a long axis of the first flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the first flexible section perpendicular to the long axis of the first flexible section;
a second flexible section extending from the first coupling segment and terminating in a second coupling segment;
wherein the second flexible section is bendable by at least 120°; and
wherein a length of the second flexible section measured along a long axis of the second flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the second flexible section perpendicular to the long axis of the second flexible section; and
a tool extending from the second coupling segment.
79 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein the plurality of links includes gaps between links on one side, parallel to a long axis of the first flexible portion, such that pivoting of the plurality of links into the gaps thereby bending the first flexible portion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
