Abstract

Devices, methods and systems for remedying or preventing fractures of the bone are disclosed. The devices, and corresponding methods and systems, may include first and second members each having a proximal end, a distal end and a middle portion and an outer surface. The first member may be configured to be positioned at least partially within the femoral neck of the femur. The second member may be configured to be oriented at an oblique angle relative to the first member and mechanically engaged with the first member through an interlocking connection between the distal end of the second member and the middle portion or the distal end of the first member.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 41 . (canceled)

42 . A bone-implant implantation assistance device configured to implant a bone implant device, comprising:
a sextant for positioning edges and an implant device comprising at least a first implant and a second implant, the sextant comprising a body with a first line of sight materialized by a first guide tube along an axis Y of the first implant for implantation, and a second line of sight materialized by a second guide tube ( 60 ), along an axis Z of the second implant for implantation; a gripper comprising a tube and configured to removably fix, in at least one of translation and rotation, the implant device; an orientor comprising a handle, and a rod mounted coaxially inside the gripper and configured to be free in at least one of rotation and translation relative to the gripper; and a rotational drive means configured for coupling between the gripper and the orientor.

43 . An implantable bone device comprising
a first implant including an axis Y intended, when the implant is implanted, to be arranged substantially along a longitudinal axis of the neck of a femur, the femur including a longitudinal axis X, a second implant including an axis Z intended, when the implant is implanted:
to intersect with axis Y of the first implant at an intersection point S, and
to intersect with axis X of the femur, and
a fixation point configured to connect the first implant with the second implant, wherein:
the implant is configured for the preventive or curative treatment of fractures of the coxofemoral joint.

44 . The device of claim 43 , wherein axis Y makes an angle beta with the axis X, and axis Z makes an angle theta with axis X, theta greater beta.

45 . The device of claim 43 , wherein the proximal ends of the first implant and the second implant are configured, upon implantation, to project from the cortical of the long bone of the femur.

46 . The device of claim 44 , wherein the angles beta and theta are between 91 and 179° for the left femur and between 181 and 269° for the right femur.

47 . The device of claim 43 , wherein the fixation point comprises a mechanical locking connection.

48 . The device of claim 47 , wherein the locking connection comprises a thread carried by the second implant and a corresponding threaded hole provided in the body of the first implant.

49 . The device of claim 48 , wherein the locking connection further comprises a ring configured to compensate for angular deviation of the connection.

50 . The device of claim 43 , wherein in at least one of the first implant and the second implant is solid, hollow or partially hollow tubes.

51 . The device of claim 43 , wherein at least one of the first implant and the second implant comprises at least a partially hollow tube, and includes at least one injection orifice configured to receive an injectable composition of the biocompatible cement type once the respective implant is in place.

52 . The device of claim 42 , wherein at least one of the first implant and the second implant is circular, elliptical, square, hexagonal, star, conical over a substantial length thereof, or is at least partially threaded.

53 . The device of claim 43 , wherein at least one of the first implant and the second implant is of variable length, and configured for adjustment in situ.

54 . The device of claim 43 , wherein a surface of at least one of the first implant and the second implant includes a coating and/or a surface treatment configured for biocompatibility and the development of tissue.

55 . The device of claim 43 , wherein the first implant and the second implant are configured to receive a flowable cement after the implants are implanted.
