Abstract
A label having a silicone-free (water-based) release coating and compatible adhesive patch is provided. The label includes a thermally coated substrate having a silicone-free substrate overlaid thereon of a first surface. A second surface includes a microsphere adhesive layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A label comprising:
a substrate; and a water-based release coating applied to a first surface of the substrate, wherein the water-based release coating comprising a fluorochemical component; and a low-tack microsphere adhesive applied to a second surface of the substrate.
2 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the water-based release coating comprising silicone in an amount of 5% weight based on a total weight of the water-based release coating.
3 . The label of claim 2 , wherein the water-based release coating further comprising a starch, a defoamer, a cross-linker, a non-silicone release agent, and a catalyst.
4 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the low-tack microsphere adhesive is applied in patches to the second surface.
5 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the first surface includes a thermal-print layer coated on the first surface with the water-based release coating applied on top of the thermal-print layer.
6 . The label of claim 5 , wherein the thermal-print layer is a terminal-transfer print layer,
7 . The label of claim 5 , wherein the thermal-print layer is a direct-terminal print layer.
8 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the low-tack microsphere adhesive is applied as a single straight-line adhesive patch on the second surface.
9 . The label of claim 1 wherein the low-tack microsphere adhesive is applied as multiple placed adhesive patches on the second surface.
10 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the low-tack microsphere adhesive comprises a water-based adhesive.
11 . The label of claim 1 , wherein the label is a liner-less label.
12 . A web of labels, comprising:
a substrate; a first surface of the substrate comprising a water-based release coating, wherein the water-based release coating comprising a fluorochemical component; and a second surface of the substrate comprising adhesive patches of a water-based microsphere adhesive; wherein the web is wound into a roll of individual labels.
13 . The web of labels of claim 12 , wherein each individual label comprises a single one of the adhesive patches.
14 . The web of labels of claim 12 , where each individual label comprises more than one of the adhesive patches.
15 . The web of labels of claim 12 , wherein the first surface of the substrate comprising a thermal-print layer coated on the first surface of the substrate underneath the water-based release coating.
16 . The web of labels of claim 15 , wherein the thermal-print layer is a direct-thermal print layer.
17 . The web of labels of clam. 15 , wherein the thermal-print layer is a thermal-transfer print layer.
18 . A label, comprising:
a substrate; a first surface of the substrate comprising a thermal-print layer and a water-based release coating situated on top of the thermal-print layer, wherein the water-based release coating comprising a fluorochemical component; and a second surface of the substrate comprising adhesive patches of a water-based microsphere adhesive.
19 . The label of claim 18 , wherein the label is one of multiple ones of the labels that are in a fan-fold stack and joined together.
20 . The label of claim 18 , wherein the label is one of multiple ones of the labels that are in a continuous roll associated with a web of the substrate.Cited by (0)
