Abstract
Embodiments of the invention relate generally to methods and systems for treating aqueous systems associated with industrial wastewater applications, in particular gas and crude oil drilling, pumping and production, in order to reduce or eliminate contamination and allow the water that is treated to be reused, in particular, to be reused for hydraulic fracturing.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 25 . (canceled)
26 . A fluid treatment system comprising
(i) a treatment vessel that holds a volume of aqueous fluid, (ii) a circulation pump that circulates aqueous fluid from the treatment vessel such that circulating fluid flows out of and back into the treatment vessel, (iii) a source of chlorine oxide that provides a chlorine oxide consisting essentially of chlorite, chlorine dioxide, or a combination thereof to the aqueous fluid during the circulating, (iv) a source of an oxidant that provides oxygen to the aqueous fluid during the circulating, the oxidant being one or more of air, oxygen, and ozone, and (v) an injection boom having fluid discharge openings through which circulating fluid that is infused with a combination of the chlorine oxide and the oxidant reenters the treatment vessel.
27 . The fluid treatment system of claim 26 , the volume of aqueous fluid comprising hydrocarbon.
28 . The fluid treatment system of claim 26 , the treatment vessel holding at least 4200 gallons of aqueous fluid.
29 . The fluid treatment system of claim 26 , the source of the chlorine oxide being a sodium chlorite solution.
30 . The fluid treatment system of claim 26 , comprising a venturi that is used to introduce the oxidant into circulating aqueous fluid.
31 . The fluid treatment system of claim 30 , wherein the oxidant is air.
32 . The fluid treatment system of claim 30 , wherein the venturi is also used to introduce the chlorine oxide.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
